Today (23rd of June, 2017) on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, Nintendo has now hit a Market Cap of ¥5.45T(~$49B), compared to Sony Corp with a market cap of ¥5.40T(~$48.5B)

Some Trivia:

- Earlier in June when Nintendo hit the ¥5T ($45.2B) Market Cap, that was the first time in eight years and five months.

- It is now one of the top 15 companies by Market Cap on the Tokyo Stock Exchange ahead of companies like the Mizuho Financial Group and Nissan Motors.

- Nintendo's market cap once reached 10 trillion yen in 2007 amid the initial success of the Wii console, only to later sink back to 1 trillion yen.

Last time Nintendo valued more than Sony was last year's Pokémon Go craze. That lasted only a day. - Takashi Mochizuki

- I could not find a historical market cap for Sony but their highest(?) peak in share price was ¥31,000 on March 3rd, 2000. (I can't find how many outstanding shares they had at that time.)

- Not related to Market Cap but Nintendo has between 5,000-6,000 employees while Sony has 146,300.

Apple, Alphabet and Microsoft are still giants in comparison with Apple having almost $800 billion in Market Capitalization.

Zu der Meinung kann man kommen. Dazu braucht es aber keinen Market Cap-Vergleich mit Sony, die nicht nur in der Branche wühlen. Und wie gesagt: Stock Market eben.

Nin ist eben stark abhängig von einzelnen Produkten, da verwundert diese Achterbahnfahrt hinsichtlich Unternehmenserfolg eigentlich nicht.

Nur wenn sie wieder krampfhaft versuchen das nächste große Ding zu bringen. Ich denke mit der Switch hat man ein solides Konzept, das zur Unternehmensausrichtung passt, den technologischen Ansprüchen hinsichtlich Gameentwicklung entgegenwirkt (erspart man sich 2 Geräte neben Mobile aufwändig zu unterstützen) und es Wert wäre relativ unverändert zumindest noch eine Gen anzugehen. Denke am Switch-Konzept kann man auch noch ordentlich werkeln um nächste Gen ein noch besseres Gerät zu bringen.

Auch ist Nin durch den mobilen Faktor weniger vom "Ende von dezidierter Gaming-HW" bedroht als Sony mit stationären Konsolen. Egal wie gut Streaming und Co. Mal funktionieren...der Core-Gamer wird weniger Bock haben auf seinem Smartphone klassisch zu zocken als auf seinem SmartTV (ohne Konsole).

Fazit auf die Schnelle:

- PS4 wird tatsächlich nochmal den Stream der PS3 passieren... trotz guter Zahlen der letzten Wochen. Danach geht es nach oben, Danke Dragon Quest.

- Switch wird spannend gegen Ende des Monats mit Splatoon... und dann natürlich, wie man gegen Jahresende permormen kann.

- Softwarezahlen kommen mit DQ und Splatton jetzt erst Megaseller, da sind die Daten derzeit eher die Ruhe vor dem Sturm.

Man sieht am WiiU-Switch Vergleich wie wenig Vertrauen Nintendo in die Switch hatte und wie viel zu viel in die WiiU. Letztere stapelte sich in den Geschäften wie Reissäcke. Würde Nintendo genug liefern wäre die Switch spielend auf 3DS, vielleicht sogar NDS Niveau. Was aber nicht ist kann noch werden, wahrscheinlich aber erst nächstes Jahr.

Ohne den Titel würde sich die PS4 schlechter verkaufen als die PS3, falls du die Grafik nicht lesen kannst.
