I hate to tell you this, but that little asterisk on the supported PCI card page means that only DWL-G122 version b1 can read the Gigabyte drivers. If yours isn't b1, I'm afraid the PCI card uses a different chipset. The same thing happened to me a while ago, went and bought a Dlink DWL-G510 b1, only to find that only c1 version was supported (I managed to refund it though ).
If your G122 is a b1 and the drivers still cannot detect the device, I suggest uninstalling all drivers, replug the PCI into the slot and restart your pc. It should recognize a new hardware device (ignore the wizard), and then proceed to reinstalling the Gigabyte drivers. If not, try an older version of the drivers (1.41 instead of 1.5) .
No problem, my Nintendo USB-Connector should arrive tomorrow. I have tried all that uninstalling stuff, but the Gigabyte drivers still cannot be found. Also the older versions of the drivers didn't work.
Now I set all my hopes onto the official USB-Connector from Nintendo...
But thanks for trying to help me, I really appreciate that
