I watched the
Tears Of The Kingdom gameplay demonstration several hours after it had been released. The video began as every
Nintendo video does these days: that familiar Nintendo Switch logo, the red-n'-white, the Pavlovian sound of the Joy-Con clicking into place. There was a brief address from longtime
The Legend Of Zelda grandmaster Eiji Aonuma, and then the gameplay demonstration began.
It was a thirteen-minute demonstration and I must admit, with an impassive shrug, that not a single one of those 13 minutes engaged me in any meaningful way. I could not tell you what reactions I had to anything shown in the demonstration, because the plain, dry fact of the matter is that I didn't have any at all.
