Thermal Engineer who has a proven track record of developing system and component level thermal designs that best balance performance, cost, high volume manufacturability, acoustic, and reliability from concept to mass production in an
aggressive time-to-market environment.
You will be responsible for leading the thermal design, modeling, and design validation. At the same time, you are
challenged to meet program goals for product performance, quality, safety/compliance, product cost, schedule, and development budget.
Your track record must include direct experience with forced and natural convection design, hands-on thermal testing, and design for experiments.
The ideal candidate must demonstrate exceptional experience in both theoretical and empirical thermal design theory and operation and
must have a high level of high volume product development and aggressive schedule experience.
Hands on experience in Flotherm modeling is a must.
Experience with PRO-Engineer is desirable.
Responsibilities Include:
- Leading consumer electronic system and component level thermal
design in an aggressive time-to-market environment with emphasis on low cost, reliability and high volume manufacturability.
- Lead thermal test vehicles specifications, design and testing
- Provide team leadership and collaboration of cross functional and cross-organizational product development team.
Successful collaboration with Reliability Engineering, Silicon Development and Development/Manufacturing Test teams is critical.
- Create statements of work and manage development partners & contract manufacturers
- Organize, present, and document technical reviews/status
- Create test plans and procedures and lead testing to qualify all parts involved in system and component level cooling solution, such as:
fans, heat sinks, heat pipes, heat sink retention mechanisms, thermal interface material, thermal gap pads, etc.
- Create test plans and procedures and lead testing on variety on test vehicles, including Thermal Load Boards, Golden Thermal Units, EV, DV builds, retail units.
- Proven track record of hands on experience with test equipment
- Proven track record of working with and developing leading thermal technology initiatives.
- Attention to detail and clear documentation/communication is a must
- Min of 10 years of experience
- Education experience includes BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering or similar with emphasis on heat transfer and fluid mechanics.
