As a Senior Technical Program Manager (TPM) within the Interactive Entertainment Business (IEB) Division of Microsoft,
you will be responsible for implementing our manufacturing strategy to drive the Tier 1 supply base that will build and deliver world-class consumer electronics.
In this Redmond Wa, based position you will provide Manufacturing Engineering technical guidance and Project Management leadership to Microsoft’s Global consumer electronic manufacturing/repair operations during the entire product life cycle
including New Product Introduction (NPI), Manufacturing and Sustaining. Priority will be to
support the development and manufacturing start-up of new contract manufacturing facilities and development of new assembly processes. Other responsibilities include driving continuous process improvement and operational excellence initiatives..
This position’s core focus is managing large scale projects/programs leading a cross functional team at the assigned suppliers. The candidate should also be a strong team player who motivates peers, drives root causes analysis and quickly resolves issues that impede projects/programs progress. It is critical to have an established history leading and influencing change within a factory setting.
Core Job Responsibilities:
- Establish a project plan that covers; production & repair, process implementation, process maintenance and test process.
- Take lead / provides technical support to worldwide manufacturing and repair in support of continuous process improvement.
- Provide Mfg engineering support to Development, DFx and NPI PMs
- Standardize manufacturing process across all sites
- Understand design changes and provide build support at factory
- Drive unresolved problems to the appropriate Development groups.
- Communicate to manufacturing team on process related failures
- Support to identify test deficiencies and work with corresponding group to improve test coverage or screening.
- Provide feedback to factory on failure diagnostic
- Evaluate new tests and process changes
- Conduct targeted experiments at factory for mfg and quality improvement
- Ensure proper processes and documentations at manufacturing and test operations
- Drives implementation of best practices
- Drives continuous process improvement initiatives
- Approve and assists with implementation of procedures, process changes and/or ECNs
- Provides repair/defect feedback to Mfg and engineering as well as recommendations for product improvements where possible

Qualifications Should Include:

Minimum of 12 years of demonstrated work experience in engineering design / manufacturing environment, including high volume consumer electronics
- Demonstrated ability to manage large projects/programs.
- BS degree in Manufacturing, Operations Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Electrical or Mechanical.
- Strong working knowledge of domestic and/or international business practices.
- Strong demonstrated ability to write, speak and present information effectively and persuasively across communication settings.
- Demonstrated experience in re-engineering efforts and statistical analysis such as Six Sigma.
- Self-sufficient PC skills: Excel, Word, Power Point, Visio, MS project, etc.
