I have good news, but there's also some tiny "baggage" attached to that good news.
Good News: According to my sources, the Direct is still set for Tuesday. As far as I know, @NateDrake 's information is still good.
The Baggage: However, I'm also hearing Tuesday's Direct will air in the
early morning PDT (US time).
Not Tuesday evening (US time). I was told the exact time/hour when it would air.
Why is this notable? Because "General" Directs are typically aired at the start of the evening for the US, around midnight in Europe and in the morning for Japan. Normally around 2pm-3pm PDT. So, that early morning time slot feels very much Mini-esque. Correct me if I'm wrong, but the last General Direct to air in the early morning (US time) was 2018.
To be fair, that doesn't guarantee that Tuesday's Direct is a "mini". Patterns and trends can be always broken. Nintendo's marketing department can break their own rules whenever they want. But I can at least confirm that this Direct will air in the early morning (US time PDT) on Tuesday.

This is why I was
tempering my expectations on Saturday, and why I wasn't completely on board with all of the Direct rumors. I love Jeff, he's a wonderful friend, but it's difficult to have high expectations before knowing what format this Direct will take. (General or Mini)
By the way, who says Metroid Prime HD Remaster can't just be shadow dropped in a random Twitter announcement - on a random day in October/November or even January? Everyone assumes everything needs to be announced in a Direct. Nintendo randomly announced Super Mario 3D All Stars and then released it two-and-a half weeks later. Same company announced Ring Fit Adventure one week
after a September Direct. There's no hard rule that Nintendo products need to be announced in a Direct.
ahahaha yep, calling it now, the switch is dead mini of some kind this week, switch 2 reveal early next year we're entering the twilight Yep. It just PROVES games have been completely held back for Drake announcement.
