Arena Commander Changes

The REC system will be run by EA (Electronic Access).
Adding multiplayer free flight.
Most hardpoints will be able to accept gimbaled mounts, but their max size will be 1 smaller than fixed max size (mount must be size 2 or lager).
Retaliator hangar ready.
New Damage System:
Old system required every broken part hand modeled, 250 meshes for a small ship taking up as much as 100 MB on disk (compared to pristine Hornet 15 MB).
New damage system uses deformation, thickness, temperature, and burn. Procedurally models which part of the ship is broken off by measuring damage to connection to hull.
Animation Update:
CIG decided to redo skeleton rig last year, with whole new muscles and male/female scan data.
It took more time than expected, so FPS is a bit late.
Revamped animations for realistic rifle and pistol handling.
Improved headbob and animations from PAX Aus.
Headbob now “bumping” appearance rather than rotating. Still focuses on far point.
Walking, running, strafing motions more fluid, less stiff.

Should be out this month.
FPS will be called “Star Marine,” another in-hangar simulation.
Play as an outlaw or marine
First release, choose from light, medium, heavy armor (modular armor system down the road).
Weapons include: Gemini pistol, Model 2 Arclight pistol (has grapple beam for 0g), Devastator shotgun, Behring P4SC sub machine gun, KW ATT 4 assault rifle, Also sniper rifle and another shotgun
Grenade types include Frag, EMP, and force propulsion.
Gadgets include Hologram, medkit, personal shield, area denial system (Claymore)
There will be two game modes on launch:
Traditional combat (like counterstrike) inside the Gold Horizon space station.
8v8 marines vs outlaws.
Whole environment damageable, gravity can be turned off an on.
Second game mode is in 0g "Astro Arena."
Up to 16 vs 16 combat.
Good for training 0g mechanics. Will be a in-fiction sport. Plays like Ender's Game.
Model II arclight pistol has a grapple beam to be used here.

Ich hab ja gehofft, dass sie Microsoft verarschen..so als dankeschön für das Freelancer-Debakel..
hoffe das sind platzhalter animationen, sieht nämlich ziemlich kacke aus
nur die von vor ein paar Wochengibts schon videos von dem richtigen fps modul?
und doom wird auf die schipe genommen.
