Kevin interviews Mr.Inc and Mr.Rebus:
here the question about 3rd revo's feaure:
This is a question you get asked a lot but could you give us any hints as to what the 3rd Revolution feature is?
here the answer:
Well I can't say much about it, except you will be incredible surprised. There will be a lot of confusion, whether it's real or not when you see it.
As for hints I can give you a few, but I don't think they are very useful;
-It's not new technology
-It's as groundbreaking as the controller, if not even more groundbreaking.
-There will be even more confusion when it's showed (to be compared with people's reactions when they saw the N64 controller).
-It's more or less used in another entertainment sections already ( limited ).
-It's more or less shown already
So, in my opinion, stereoscopy corresponds to all these points. It's used in the cinema, but only in some IMAX or Disney theater.
Miyamoto, the 2nd of december, in a japan university (or DIEC, I don't remeber), told about the future of videogames, and he said he would expand videogames in the room, and not only on the flat TV screen.
And the biggest directors (like Jackson, Zemeckis, and Lucas) told about 3D visualisation, and said in early 2005 (april, I suppose, so before TGS 2005) that 3D visual will arrive in all their films in 2007, but in 2006 a "known videogames maker" will use this technology in games.
Revolution can be connected in all TV set, including TV standard, LDC, PC monitor and projection. So the hardware of the console can shifts the image, and with (or without) 3D-glasses, polirize images to our eyes.
Like Sharp laptop "mebius" ("actius" in US), but without special LCD panel.
It will be possible.
