In the lastest issue of UK magazine GamesMaster is a short preview of PD0 ( the review is going to be in next month's issue). Here's what they had to say:
"Just to be clear the multiplayer in this prequel/sequel still rocks. We got our eager fingers on Perfect Dark Zero's Dark Ops mode this month - a Counter Strike style, one-life only team melee - and grinned like baboons as we zip-lined around a gigantic oriental temple and snipered up sukers from half a mile away.
But the focus of our Perfect Dark playtest in the top secret Rare country mansion was the single player. The verdict: 360 degrees of perfection, wether Jo Dark is exploring cool blue corridors and slapping Spiderbots with the help of holograms packing heat, or bloodying up the locals on the rooftops of Hong Kong. And there is blood, believe us. And even a bit of swearing.
Your own curses are kept a minimum thanks to floor arrows that guide to checkpoints and your partner Chandra's constant in-ear assistance. Pros shouldn't scoff though - the help evaporates at higher difficulties as the mission objectives pile up.
Plus your taking on the whole world: Perfect Dark Zero rates your mission performance - body kills, headshots, shots fired, accuracy, speed and so on - and ranks you instantly against the best on the planet using LIVE.
Pretty as Little Miss Perfect is in combats and a crop top, the game doesn't match Kameo in the eye candy department. But with water reflections shimmering on walls and the sprawling skyline of the 23rd century bathed in the glorious glow of early morning, Perfect Dark Zero is more about atmosphere. Especially so when the superb Bondesque soundtrack kicks in just as the action really gets tasty."
" Oh and did we mention that the multi-player rocks? When senior game designer Duncan Botwood told us that you're able to re-program sentry guns so that they turn traitor on the very person that originally set them up, we fell in love with him instantly.
The Dark nights of Christmas just can't draw in soon enough. This game is looking superb and we simplt can't wait."
"How does it play?: The old Rare magic is back. Perfect Dark's genius level designs beg you to explore every inch and the controls are what the Xbox 360 pad was made for. The action doesn't let up for a millisecond, and there's massive variety in the levels."
"Verdict: Don't expect a Halo killer - just one of the best blasters you've ever played, and the perfect reason to pre-order a 360. Now. Quick."
