so this is actually a rumor from the chinese forum baidu but it does come from the poster who has had some pretty good information about the 980 ti and was accurate for the most part.
it is in chinese but using a translator and inferring from it for better structure and meaning, this is what the poster says about the 1080 Ti and some other information related
Mass Effect: Andromeda would be the first game to be demoed with the 1080 TI, probably DX12 exclusive, potentially gameworks? (original translation came off as N card optimization so that might be it)
Supposedly there's a non-public version of the 1080 Ti that's going to be released at CES. Can't really make a clear inference but looks like it might be a 2nd distribution of it?
which leads into the next one
1080 Ti will be displayed on a machine and January 5th is the official release (probably announcement) of the 1080 Ti
next post is not really related to the 1080 Ti but you can always translate it, really just talks about most games using Nvidia as first platform so the next one, which is actually potential pricing of the 1080 Ti
Estimated to be $699 or $799
I am guessing that there's most likely an FE version so potential regular price could be $699 or $799, and the FE may be $799 or $899 plus taxes
he does say he doesn't know the exact price but somewhere in that range, potentially higher
and the last one which is the potential specs of the 1080 Ti
Will come with GDDR5 and not GDDR5X - 3328 Cuda Cores, 384 Bit, 12 GB GDDR5, 96 ROPs
now if you remember earlier in the year there were 2 rumors about the memory capacity, one had it as 10 GB G5, and the other which i posted for the most part said it had 12 GB G5 so if true, this would confirm that the 1080 Ti's product number is 699-1G611-0030-300, which is the 12 GB and not 699-1G611-0010-000, which would be the 10 GB version.
so that's pretty much it and so we don't know until CES but it looks like it will perform just below the Titan X Pascal if the rumored specs are confirmed.
edit 1 12:12 PM CST
adding some additional information. looks like some people in asia have seen the 1080 Ti, so this one is from the 28th of december (29th) and its from a japanese site
on post 759 there's some information about the 1080 Ti so going hand in hand with the two, it says
1080 Ti announced January 5th (so in agreement with the baidu poster)
MSRP of $799 USD, cost performance is also higher than the Titan X Pascal
There is no distribution date as of yet, but if there are no problems the 1080 Ti should begin distributing in late January
Depending on Vega, there may be some sort of price war that will go back and forth
and the last one which we won't know until CES but it looks like the poster has seen it is
The thing itself (1080 Ti) is confirmed.
