What's in store at Microsoft ‘s Black Tusk Studios
Aus dem neuen Xbox Mag UK über die Black Tusk Studios:
Black Tusk Studios began life in Microsoft Vancouver - an innocuous-seeming internal studio, tasked with development of an Unreal Engine multiplayer shooter. Then, in November, the outfit underwent an unexpected incredibly dramatic rebrand and emerged as Microsoft’s flagship core game developer, “dedicated to creating immersive AAA games that push the limits of Microsoft’s entertainment platforms”, and touting no less than four unannounced new IP - presumably for the next Xbox.
According to studio manager Mike Crump, Black Tusk is built to work on “big games with big teams, big budgets and long timelines”. More specifically, Crump and his cohorts are out to craft a franchise that rivals the mighty Halo for scale and success – the IP is tipped by internet snoops to be a science fiction affair. It’s all just talk for the moment, of course, but the quality of game-creating brains Black Tusk brings to bear speaks for itself. Watch out Master Chief – there’s trouble in them tar hills.
