VKZ VGChartz - und Prognosenthread

Ja neue Franchises sind bestimmt Multi! :)

Also bestimmt nicht schlecht!

Ahhhh, R.I.P Troika, Black Isle, Interplay und Bioware.

US:

Well, in the media-create threads some interest has been expressed for more impressions given from the perspective about what's selling and what's not in the US. This thread can be used for workers to share their perspectives of what is selling and such.

my store - Target - Family City, USA

- Wii - Obviously the system, we had 25 Wiis in on Tuesday and sold every single one out in 15 minutes. Most people were picking up Mario Galaxy. Other popular choices for people buying Wii games have been Mario and Sonic, High School Musical Sing it!, Lego Star Wars, and Wii Play. Some sales for Metroid Prime 3, Mario Party 8, and Rayman: Raving Rabbids 2 also. RE: UC sold out within like 2 days of release and we have not gotten any back in since release (4 copies, I believe). Fire Emblem sold 2 of 4 since release, as well. Everybody is asking for Guitar Hero 3, but we haven't seen a restock in 5 days...

-DS - We probably average 20 DS's a day for the past week, plus the more than 50 we sold on Black Friday. People have been buying Mario Party DS as fast as we can keep them in stock. New Super Mario Bros, Zelda, and Nintendogs remain popular. Petz, Catz, Dogz, etc. games are selling well, much to my chagrin. Some sales here and there of Sonic Rush Adventure, Animal Crossing, Hannah Montana, and Bleach.

-XBox 360 - We haven't had any Premiums or Elites in for about a week now. We have plenty of Arcades and Halo Editions. Call of Duty 4 has been huge, as well as Assassin's Creed and Lego Star Wars. We have sold some Halo 3's, Mass Effect's, Madden's, and NBA 2K8's as well. We have not sold one copy of **** and *****, nor Clive Barker's Jericho. Scene it! has sold a few bundles, too. GHIII just recently came back in as a single game, but the pack has been sold out for a few days. Both the Wii and 360 versions have seen extremely high demand and interest from consumers. Rock Band sold out in minutes and we haven't seen a restock since the first 5 minutes it was out...Probably sold around 13 - 18 360's this past 7 days.

-PS3 - The 40 GB version has increased sales for the PS3, no doubt, but sales have not been spectacular. We have probably sold around 5 or 6 PS3s in the past week. Call of Duty 4, Lego Star Wars, and Assassin's Creed have seen a few sales here and there, but are shadowed by the their 360 counterparts dramatically in sales at my store. Ratchet and Clank has sold 1 copy in the past week. Guitar Hero 3 on PS3 is definitely selling the slowest. We had bundles on the shelf from a restock 4 days ago up until today. Rock Band did sell out immediately, though I don't see how Sony, if my store represents any sort of national mindshare and sales average, could be pleased with the PS3's sales, even with the new model and pricedrop.

-PSP - The PSP has been selling really well in terms of hardware. We have probably sold some 10-15 systems in the past week (if not a few more). The games aren't selling, period, but the system has sold well. No Core's in sight, though. It has all been Star Wars and Daxter bundle. One wonders, like with the lack of Elites and Premiums, where the Cores are? I haven't seen one in about 3 weeks at my work. I think the only 360 game that I saw get sold this week was Final Fantasy Tactics. We sold 3 or 4 copies, so that was pretty nice.

-PS2 - Still selling well, especially Guitar Hero 3, High School Musical, and a bunch of greatest hits games. The Ceramic White system and bundle with Singstar has sold a few systems as well, probably somewhere in the 15-20 range (not including big Black Friday sales). Most people are just buying Guitar Hero games and guitars for the PS2, though.

If, judging by my store, I had to guess what the top selling games for November would be, I would say:

1. Mario Galaxy
2. Guitar Hero III XBox 360
3. Call of Duty 4
4. Guitar Hero III PS2
5. Guitar Hero III Wiii
6. Assassin's Creed 360
7. Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games
8. Lego Star Wars Wii
9. Lego Star Wars 360
10. Mass Effect

Mario Party DS would probably fit in there somewhere as well.
That's pretty much how I have seen it.

My brother works @ Walmart. I live in San Antonio, Tx.

He lurks gaf but hasnt registered. He's always interested in AB topics about what is selling and asked me to post his findings.

PS3-This month he has seen a nonstop increase in Ps3 sales, running out of 60gig, selling out of 40gig and restocking them nicely while selling a fair amount of 80gig. He said what he sees is that while the ps3 is selling really well, they get stocked very often.

Games=AC, R&C, Cod4, Motorstorm(bundle/nonbundle), and rfom.

Wii-Tbh, I see these often, I had a fun debate with a friend that swore we could find Wii's and I said we couldnt. After calling 6 Eb/Gamestop we found quite a few. I chalked it up as shipment days.
My bro says they get them in, last a couple days and wont see any for awhile and November hasnt been any different, he did state that he has seen the same person buying 2 @ a time. He's ran into the person 2x. No doubt a scalper. I visit Craigs alot and Wii's are easy to find, new w/ receipt. Same with in our newspaper. I think 50% of the time Wii's get bought buy scalpers and 50% by a person needing one.

Games=Random party games, doesnt specify anything really, just assorted, nothing standing out in sells.

360-Shitload of Halo sku leftover since they launched. Random elites from time to time, he says they get them in they take some time to sell but when they do sell they sell back to back. The rest are random he said, good days bad days.

Games=Halo, PGR, Madden

San Antonio is a decenlty sized city, not small, but not NYC big. Walmart dont report with NPD, I buy everything from there tbh. All my games all my electronics. As do my friends and family. I think its underrated in terms of sales of consoles/games. My friend said he saw a person purchasing 2 40gigs the other day.

We have 3 BB I can think of off the back, 3 Targets maybe, and like 6+Walmarts in my city alone. I live, obviously, in a hugely hispanic city, were Walmarts rule.

- wii - instant sell outs... constant calls about it... i think it's cute that someone called it the "double-u two" i don't really pay too much attention to what people are buying games wise, but DDR and guitar hero get asked about a lot. mario galaxy sold out at one point, but hasn't been moving quite as fast since we restocked... also 90% of people looking for the wii are soccer moms. wii fit will make the continent... nay, the world explode.

- 360 - very good and consistent seller... we still have lots of elites and pro bundles... so the apparent shortages being reported here surprise me. arcade doesn't do all that well and halo edition sells like complete ass... i have encountered several people who were buying the console again because i guess they had money to burn and didn't want to send their console away to get fixed... one guy told me it was the 6th one he BOUGHT (?!?!?!) ... games wise, assassin's creed and cod4 and gh3.. mass effect had good first day sales.. not much since.

- ps3 - definite improvement since price drop and 40gig introduction... but sales still behind 360 sales. the gap seems to be narrowing though. i've noticed a lot of older, more sophisticated looking men purchasing the machine... perhaps more for it's blu-ray capabilities than it's games? who knows. call of duty4, assassin's creed are the big movers for the system... uncharted is selling alright, but definitely not at the pace that it deserves to be... a fist fight almost broke out for the last gh3 bundle we had yesterday.

i'm too lazy to get into psp and ds.. but both are doing quite well. i have seen several christmas wish lists so far and psp seems to be the one more in demand by children at the moment.... strangely enough.

the end.
Pretty much the same thing here in my SoCal Target.

Wii's just sell out as soon as we get them and we get constant inquiries on the little bugger. People that already have one ready to give as presents are coming in buying games and accessories. Popular games seem to be Wii Play (who can resist a remote?), Playground, Mario & Sonic, and SMG.

360s are selling steadily maybe around 3-4 in an 8 hour shift. I mostly sell the pro's (I think we had one left when I got off today) followed by the Arcade, Elite, and the Halo edition. We are sold out of COD4 which seems to be the only game people want right now. Halo3 still sells decently along with GHIII. I rarely sell extra controllers but chill station and charge kits are pretty popular.

PS3s are saying, "I'm almost catching the turtle." I would say we sell maybe 2-3 per day. And it's damn hard trying to sell a game on the thing. Most popular PS3 game in my store seems to be Madden. When I try to recommend games like R&C or Uncharted people give me the 'evil' eye and say no thank you. As far as accessories go I'm barely able to push HDMI cables because people are pretty much broke after the PS3, but I am able to push service plans by reminding them that they just threw down 400 or 500 big ones.

PSP: Daxter bundles sells the best with memory stick, game and movie in tow, followed by the core. Lately, I have been pushing more PSP's than DS's I would say 3-4 per day. I rarely sell games for the thing but I do find empty cases GTA: whatever city throughout the store (my store is ghetto). Madden, and other sports games, seems to be the most popular.

As for DS's I personally sell maybe 2-3 a day. Most popular games are any of the damn generic Ubi games, NSMB, Mario Kart, and of course BA/BA2.

PS2's move the slowest nowadays, but I still sell a shit ton of games. GH (all of them) seem to be the biggest sellers. Heck, we haven't had any GHIII bundles (with single or dual guitars) in stock, or we sell out as soon as we get them.

Europa:

Wii - selling well because of it's low price to those primarily on benefits or low income families. Mainly to older (50+) people and women. Most people buying a Wii are just walking away with Wii Sports or Wii Play. SMG not making any notable sales.

DS - selling extremely well. Very popular amongst all age ranges male and female. People buying 1 or 2 games with it. Fairly large section in store devoted to DS and GBA.

360 - since the PS3 price drop selling much worse. A lot of people wanting HD movie playback and that seems to be a sticking point especially with the Elite costing $600 without any WiFi either. Also balk at the fact they have to pay a subscription for online play. Halo 3 not selling as well as Halo 2 which didn't do great sales in itself. COD4 and shooters are popular titles on 360. Mainly selling to teenage males accompanied by their parents.

PS3 - PES2008 bundle selling extremely well. A lot of PS2 gamers upgrading to PS3 thanks to that, the price drop and a big marketing push and demand for HDTVs and Blu-Ray movies. He is pretty sure that the PS3 version of PES2008 will outsell the 360 version this Xmas judging from current sales. Lots of people asking about GT5, Singstar and MGS4. Selling mainly to 20-30 year old males.

PSP - didn't ask about that.
Wii - Out of stock, still getting lots of people asking us if we got any Wiis.. No, we got no Wiis, stop asking!!!

DS - This week, for the first time, we are now out of DS Lite stock, selling at a very extremely fast pace. We had 18 in yesterday, all sold out that day (even when we increased the rpice of the bundle). Pink is very very popular.

PSP - Selling here and there, no black slim PSPs left (bar the Fifa 08 pack), pre-owned old PSPs do reasonably well as well.

Now for the harder ones:

PS3 - we got no 60GB at all, 40GB are there and it sells reasonably, not great. If we had 60GBs in (won't happen unless pre-owned), PS3 sales will increase.

360 - Recently, alot of people are buying the 360s, maybe because we got no DSL, PS3 60GBs or Wiis, but the 360 is selling very well, and is currently our biggest cash maker (until the DSLite/Wiis come into stock).

Wii - Out of stock as usual. Loads asking for it, though. SMG is actually selling incredibly well, and they're down to contents now - there's no mint copies out back any more, just what's out on the shop floor. Mario and Sonic is selling steadily and very well as "Wii Sports 2". Store recieved 4 boxes of Wii Remotes and Nunchuks today, and all of them were gone within 4 hours. Sales of GH3 are strong, sold out of it.

DS - Out of stock at opening. However, delivery arrived and they got about 35-40 DS consoles in. They were all sold by 1pm (opening time 9am) with lots of disappointed/angry people who missed it. No particular games selling well, just the kiddy stuff and brain training. Lots of people asking for Mario & Sonic on it. Essentially, it is quickly turning into a Wii situation. Pink sold out first, and ridiculously quickly.

PS3 - Asassins Creed on PS3 in shortage according to head office. Sold about 8 PS3 units today. Selling to your typical PS3 crowd they're used to, really - hardcore PS2 fans who are Sony or nothing. A fair few people asking when Singstar/Eyetoy is gonna hit PS3, though. Only bundle that was really selling was Assassins Creed + Gertsmann Review, which is unfortunate thanks to the AC shortage. After AC was gone managed to shift a few Need for Speed/Pro Evo bundles, but when the AC bundle was killed PS3 business on the whole slowed. Games are doing well, though, and PS3 owners in particular seem very savvy to the idea of trade-ins and tend to do them more than 360 owners. Dunno why, though, just a strange side note.

360 - Great deal on for Elite + extra pad + 3 games (Assassins Creed, Forza, Viva) for £330 or so. No AC shortage on 360. Elites flying out, managed to finish off their stock of those today. Arcade actually selling quite well unlike Core - people seemed to realise the core was gimped and similarly realise this one's a good system for what it is and the price. Premium, of course, is the best of the lot, and of the three shifted the most units, even with that Elite deal on. 2nd best selling console after DS by quite a long way. Scene it gradually starting to shift more and more units. DEFINITELY the biggest console for guitar hero, sold an absolute shitload while have only sold 14 PS3 copies sinch launch. 360 buyers tend to opt for the insurance more often (wonder why) and almost all of them plump for the Play & Charge kit. Still got a few ugly ass Halo consoles they can't shift.

PS2 - Still selling a lot by all accounts. Strangely software sales seem to be rapidly decreasing, but hardware itself is still flying out of the doors as a cheap alternative for christmas and stuff, especially with buzz/singstar/eyetoy being used for Xmas parties etc.

PSP - Slow and steady. Might look bad next to the DS, but it definitely has an audience as people are buying them and the games are selling. Lots of people asking for much-delayed multiplat titles like PES and Need for Speed which aren't showing up til after christmas, which is a shame for it sales wise.

Other stuff - As I said, Guitar Hero 3 is a total stormer of a hit. Sold loads. Wii is sold out. PS2 has had reasonable sales; the 360 version has definitely sold the most. Nobody is bothering with the solus game on 360.

Nobody's buying those shitty Wii knockoffs for PS2. (Real World Driving/Golf etc)

DS sales are a 50/50 split between stuff like Deal or No Deal/Who wants to be a Millionaire/Brain Training and Pony Friends/Bratz/Happy Feet etc. Lots of Animal Crossing shifting though.

Lair not selling well. Only sold about 6 copies in 2 days. Need for Speed however is shifting a shitload of units on PS3, especially compared to the other consoles where it's ignored (presumably in favour of exclusives like PGR4 and Excite Truck.)

Nichts wirklich aufregendes imho.

Da kommen nie so wirklich viele VKZ zusammen.
