Ja, es ist auch mit Controllern spielbar.
Bist du ganz sicher? Wenn ja, würde ich das nämlich einfach mal blind vorbestellen!

Question: Can I play this game alone? And does it require a GBA?
Answer: You can play Hyrule Adventure alone, without the need for a Game Boy Advance. Whenever you go into an area that would normally be displayed on the GBA screen, it will simply be overlaid over the main screen, as shown in the screenshot on the right. But if you want to play with two or more players, you have to use GBAs. Shadow Battle requires two to four GBAs to be connected to the GameCube. As it's basically Four Swords +'s versus mode, you cannot play this game alone. You can, however, play Navi Trackers alone. But it looks like that you will still need a GBA because all of the gameplay takes place on the small screen.

Four Swords Delayed in Japan
Now America gets it first.
January 15, 2004 - Nintendo Japan announced today that The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords will be seeing a delay. The game, originally scheduled for release in the country on 2/19 will now see release on 3/18. It will come packaged with a GC-GBA connection cable and will be priced at 5800 yen. No reason was given for the delay.
There's no word yet from Nintendo regarding the status of the America version. As far as we know, the game is still scheduled to arrive stateside on 2/19. Stay tuned for more as we learn it.

SP geht ohne GBA, MP nicht, steht in dem IGN Interview:
