Mario Kart Revolution in the Works?

In the latest issue of Nintendo Power magazine (February 2006), Mario Kart producer Hideki Konno discussed his thoughts on the Nintendo Revolution and the future of the Mario Kart franchise.

Nintendo Power: What do you like most about the Revolution controller?

Hideki Konno: We're doing a lot of experiments right now with the Revolution controller and obviously with the direct pointing device (DPD) and its ability to track movement and distance. You know, that's huge, because that's a brand-new thing that we've never seen before in any controller. Trying to envision all the different things we could do with that motion sensor, that DPD, is a little mind-boggling.

NP: Where do you think the Mario Kart series can go from here?

Konno: As you know, Mario Kart has appeared on all of Nintendo's platforms so far, and I think it's done its job on the DS, or at least I hope it will with what's new. So the next logical step, of course, is the Revolution. Really what we hope to do is continue to bring new and creative things to the franchise that appeal not only to our established user base, but also bring new people into the game.

Der Onlinemodus von Mario Kart DS bietet noch viele Dinge, die man bei Mario Kart Revolution dann besser machen kann. Aber aus Erfahrung lernt man ja schliesslich und glücklicherweise (hoffe ich doch ^^)

Ja das wär genial. Ich hoffe es kommt wirklich eins :cry:

also dazu muss ich sagen dass es schon seit ewigkeiten ein gerücht über ein camelot rpg gibt, damals dachte man noch es würde irgendwann für den cube erscheinen! ich würde sagen ein golden sun für den cube ist gar nicht so unwahrscheinlich und wäre neben zelda und mario mein absolutes most wanted, ich liebe golden sun auf dem gameboy, meiner meinung nach besser als die letzten final fantasys die so erschienen sind!

Ich hätte die Spiele alle in 2 Monaten schon durch.
Jetzt in den Weihnachtsferien allein schon könnte ich drei Spiele durchspielen. Gut, so RPGs dauern sehr lange, aber Zelda hab ich schon schneller durch, Mario, Donkey Kong sowieso, Metroid Prime dauert wieder sehr lange (zum Glück). Und dann die ganzen Spiele auch noch mit dem neuen Controller, wow.

Ich finde die Liste super toll. Aber ich will auch ganz neue Spiele, die es jetzt noch gar nicht gibt. Von mir aus mit den bekannten Nintendo-Chars. Das ist egal, ich mag die ja, aber halt neue Spielideen mit denen. Jetzt kann man doch so viele neue Sachen machen, Nintendo wird sich da bestimmt total austoben und eine Innovation nach der anderen in ihre Spiele packen.

Und wenns einem mal langweilig wird, dann kann man einfach die vielen alten Spiele downloaden, die bestimmt richtig Spaß machen werden. Wenn ich dran denke, was es da alles so gibt, vom NES angefangen bis zum N64, da wirds einem ja nie wieder langweilig werden.
Und die ganzen NES-Spiele kenn ich noch gar nicht. Mein Bruder meint, die sind richtig geilo. Na dann, auf gehts.

New Revolution Games Announced
New Japanese publisher working on two games.

December 20, 2005 - If you`ve been keeping up with the Japanese game scene over the past few months, you might have heard of a new game company called AQ Interactive. This publisher released one of Japan's Xbox 360 launch titles, Tetris: the Grand Master Ace and went on to announce a few additional titles for platforms that include the Xbox 360 and PSP. But it wasn't until today that we learned the true nature of the beast.

Revolution is included in the list, making AQ one of the first 3rd parties to commit support for Nintendo's new platform. The company is working on an original action title and a game based off a major comic license. Additional details were not provided at the press conference.

Exclusive: Update Regarding NIBRIS and Nintendo Revolution


Revolution Report has been the exclusive outlet for all news concerning Polish developer NIBRIS and its first title, Raid over the River, planned for both the Nintendo DS and Nintendo Revolution. Earlier today, the studio's Project Manager Piotr Orlowski provided a brief update on the status of NIBRIS' titles.

According to Orlowski, NIBRIS is wrapping up work on the first level of the Raid over the River DS Version. As is stated on the team's new Web site, a "playable demo of the first game that is heading to the Nintendo DS should be available for interested parties before February 2006."

In regards to the Revolution version, he was only able to say at this time that the game's working title is Raid over the River Revolution and that "this game will be the second part of the Raid over the River story," the first obviously for the Nintendo DS.

Concluding, Orlwoski affirmed that NIBRIS "has a strong business partner" and said he hopes that both versions of Raid over the River give Nintendo fans a lot of fun in a fresh way.

Raid over the River würde mich jetzt auf den ersten Blick nicht interessieren, aber was nicht ist, kann ja noch werden.

Natürlich sind fast alle Games aus der IGN Liste Pflichtitel und man kann davon ausgehen, dass sie früher oder später auch erscheinen werden. Ein Golden Sun für Revo wäre allerdings kaum zu überbieten. Ich liebe die Golden Sun Teile für den GBA und aus dem Franchise lässt sich ne Menge rauskloppen! Imo wäre das (sofern es den Anforderungen gerecht werden würde) mein Kaufgrund für den Revo schlechthin (vorerst, man weiß ja nicht was noch alles kommt :smile2: )!!! Ich habe mir das Game schon seinerzeit sehnlichst für den Cube gewünscht - wurde ja nix draus!

Ich hoffe (und glaube) das auf der E3 mal was ordentliches geboten wird. Schöne, viele, geile Games von 3rd Parties wäre wohl das beste, was BigN passieren könnte!

Exklusives Sonic spiel?

Sources close to SEGA have told IGN Revolution that the developer is working on a new entry into the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise for Nintendo's next generation console. The title, purportedly developed by a "top-tier" SEGA team led by Yuji Naka, will not be a port of the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 game tentatively dubbed "Sonic the Hedgehog [next gen]." Instead, say insiders, it is an entirely original effort designed from the ground up to take advantage of Revolution's unique controller. No further details are available at this time.

We received a mysterious (and anonymous) email late Friday which had what appears to be details from a yet to be announced Revolution title.

The game appears to be called Sunder: Land of Divide and looks to be some sort of first or third person shooter.

Instead of just bland screenshots and some worthless plot descriptions this sheet includes details specs on a variety of interesting weapons and how those weapons are used with the Revolution’s new remote controller.

I’m in the process of tearing the scan apart to make it more readable, expect to see it up in the early hours of Saturday.
