The latest Famitsu has a few-page story on Platinum Games’ Vanquish, spilling new details and information on the Mikami shooter.
The game starts off in Providence, America’s 51st state, which is actually a solar absorber in space that gathers energy to beam down to Earth.
However, someone takes over Providence and uses its energy for mass destruction. His first target is San Francisco, killing 500,000 citizens. In the meantime, Washington receives a delcaration of war from Russia. Unless America surrenders, they’ll hit New York next.
That’s when Sam comes in. Sam is a DARPA soldier with a mission to test out the Augment Reaction Suit (ARS). This suit, thanks to carbon nano tubes, give Sam the strength, movement, strategy, and processing capabilities of the latest tanks.
In the ARS, Sam has access to a variety of weapons, but can also fight physically, as well. The magazine notes that physical combat is usually not as important in these kinds of games, but in this game, it’s essential. A boost option in the suit allows Sam to greatly increase his speed to jump on enemies or dash past a horde of bullets.
Witch Time Bayonetta fans rejoice, because Vanquish sports Augmented Reality mode, which basically slows everything down – making Sam’s reaction speed much greater.
Sam does have allies in this fight. Even though it sounds like he can take out just about anything, he’ll be working together with other characters, taking down enemies as a team.
At its current stage, Vanquish is about 80% complete. The game’s scheduled for a winter 2010 release on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

also ich freu mich drauf.
klingt gut und sieht alles gut aus.
 
fast 4 wochen ruhe und dann 2 post mit dem gleichen inhalt fast zur selben zeit. :lol:

sieht gut aus. bin gespannt auf gameplay.
 
Holy f***, wenn die es richtig machen, könnte es eins der bestaussehendsten Spiele werden. :o
Beim Gameplay mach ich mir keine Sorgen, Mikami wird das Kind schon schaukeln! :)

bin auch gespannt, wie es wird.

hoffentlich nicht so nen reinfall wie dark void.
aber die umstände hier sprechen eig schon dagegen.
