Although Street Fighter 5 is almost upon us, there are still details about the game that have yet to be revealed.
Hadoken.net caught up with famed Street Fighter producer Yoshinori Ono to discuss the upcoming title and some of the mystery surrounding its story mode.
Before touching on game features, Ono talked a bit about how the Street Fighter 5 project came to fruition. Apparently, Street Fighter 5 has been in the works for quite some time.
"It was shortly after we finished development of Super Street Fighter 4 Arcade Edition ver. 2012 that planning for Street Fighter 5 began," Ono said. "If you look back at my interview archives from back then, you’ll note that I remarked quite a few times that I wanted that to be our last update to the SF4 series.
"Clearly, I had Street Fighter 5 planning on the mind. *laughs*"
Capcom is still being quite reserved in revealing information about the game's story mode, however, Ono does mention that they will be "offering a prologue which introduces players to the characters and the world of Street Fighter 5."
Whether Ono is referring to the tutorial mode that popped up in between beta tests (which you can see below) or something entirely new is unclear. But rest assured, new details about Street Fighter 5's story mode are coming in the very near future, according to Ono.
