As a whole, there really is no game series quite like Starcraft. Since its first outing, it defined what the real-time strategy could be. It created worldwide cultural change and phenomena, made rock stars out of gamers, and catapulted the culture of gaming up into the media as it created “eSports” in its wake. Starcraft II and Heart of the Swarm continue the strong traditions that made the series great and takes them higher and farther than we ever thought possible. With a renewed eye turned to player-created content and expanded mechanics, Starcraft 2: Heart of the Swarm is an amazing expansion to an already genre-defining game. While my personal perceptions of the Zerg weren’t exactly the greatest, it does little to distract from the overwhelming game that surrounds it, and I find it hard to fault this game for one little problem.
