Schau, ich bin noch immer Nintendofan, wenn auch nicht mehr so fanatisch wie früher.

Mir tut es im Herzen weh das Nintendo diesen Weg eingeschlagen hat und quasi aufgibt...

das glaubt dir zwar hier keiner (mehr) aber deinen letzten posts muss ich leider zustimmen, auch wenn sie nur die wiedergabe anderer war

Nintendo’s Official Revolutionary Stance


In response to all the info popping up on the net about the power of the Revolution, Nintendo has released a statement.

Sharper graphics are certainly part of the next generation. We know that games for the Revolution will look brilliant whether played on a standard television or on a high definition television. However, is that all there is to next-generation gaming? We feel that sharper graphics should be combined with a new way to interface with the game itself. Our controller is a sharp departure from the current standard, to be sure, but it will provide a level of interactivity you can’t get currently.

Nothing really new, but Nintendo does seem to be confirming the chatter. And then they say…”but, who cares?” And really, who does? You give me a game that looks twice as good as Metroid Prime or Mario Sunshine that has all the typical Nintendo charm and wonderful control with the new controller and I’ll be ecstatic.

Muahahaha wäre cool wenn sie es doch machen. Auch wenn ich kein HD-TV habe und mir auch keinen zulegen werden in der nächsten Zeit. Das schöne für den amerkanischen Markt sind die ganzen Titel die EA Games bereithält für die Veröffentlichung 2006. :

Sie meinen 480p, das heißt 640*480 im Vollbildmodus. 720p oder 1080i wird nicht vom Revolution unterstützt.

December 8, 2005 - Online reports are shedding new light on the horsepower for Nintendo's next-generation console, codenamed Revolution, and gamers are reacting. Fans who write Nintendo of America about Revolution's power will receive the following official response:

Our competitors would have you believe that the next generation of gaming will be solely defined by high definition graphics. High definition graphics look fantastic, but come at a price. To shine, high definition games must be played on high definition televisions, which aren't cheap. Games with high definition graphics are expensive to develop because they must be developed in both standard and high definition formats. Those development costs are passed on to you in the form of more expensive software. Finally, playing games with high definition graphics requires a system with loads of RAM and costly high-end graphics chips, both of which make it prohibitively expensive for most consumers.

Sharper graphics are certainly part of the next generation. We know that games for the Revolution will look brilliant whether played on a standard television or on a high definition television. Nintendo has chosen not to release official technical specifications for its next-generation console and it may never, according to company executives. The Big N believes that comparing horsepower between consoles is a lost cause and that the software standouts in the next-generation will be determined by the quality and originality of the games, not merely how flashy their graphics become.

Es dürfte wohl klar sein das der Revo grafisch nicht mit PS3 und X360 mithalten kann, aber wenn Nintendo dies sagt dürfte auch klar sein das der Revo technisch mehr auf dem Kasten hat als eine aufgepeppte Xbox ;-)

Interessanterweise widerspricht Nintendo aber nicht den Angaben von Matt, daß die Revolution 2-3 leistungsfähiger als der Gamecube sei.
Vor allem interessant ist die Tatsache, daß Nintendo keine Specs nennen will.
Brilliante Bilder kann man auch mit den Specs von gestern schaffen.

Wie gesagt: schlecht wird die Grafik des Revolution nicht sein, das sagt ja auch Matt

I was wondering lately about those revolution specs because it was at E3 that Mr. Iwata said that when we see revolutions graphics we will say wow how can we say wow to something that is not going to be next gen graphics?

Matt responds: Well, naturally that's what Iwata is going to say. He's certainly not going to tell crowds of Nintendo fans that Revolution's graphics are going to suck. And they're not. The console is more than capable of outputting some gorgeous standard definition games. But all the same, I'm offering you two valuable tips: stop clinging to the idea that Revolution is on par graphically with 360 and PS3 or you're going to set yourself up for a disappointment. Second, don't believe every marketing catch phrase that comes out of a Nintendo executive's mouth. You realize that Iwata usually doesn't even write those speeches, right? They come by way of Nintendo of America.
