What is an absolute fact that cannot be disputed is that games designed to run on XBO hardware cannot take advantage of new SSD speed in terms of game design. It just can't. The mechanical drives could not do (without some extreme wizardry) some of the things we've already seen on PS5 (for the absolute most obvious, gimicky example - the rifts in Ratchet & Clank). You can work around a lot of things, but there are certain elements that are just non starters.
If you want to argue about if you
care about any of those things, then by all means that's cool. I can totally see why people would just want fun games for cheap, even if it sacrifices next gen paradigms.
