TGS 2008: Sonys New Titles are Adventure Games ?
Looks like there’s nothing worth exciting about SCEI’s new PSP titles for Tokyo Game Show 2008 after all, at least for me. A couple of adventure games and Sony Bend’s Resistance: Retribution will be revealed as part of SCEI feature in the upcoming issue of Weekly Famitsu, with two of them being noted as playable during the show.
The adventure games are Enkaku Sousa and Diamond And The Sound of A Gun Shot, both appear to be an investigation game like AQ Interactive’s Anato Wo Yurusanai.
Sony Online Entertainment thinks about MMO integration on PSP
Sony Online Entertainment has a lot of development planned for PS3. But what about its little sibling, the PSP? SOE president John Smedley told MTV Multiplayer that "PSP is something that we're definitely looking at." With so many online-ready systems in the hands of gamers worldwide, it's an opportunity they don't want to miss on. "We're really starting to see a big push for PSP. We think it's a world-class device ... In the future, we see full MMOs that are designed for the PSP."
But before diving straight into full online games on the PSP, Smedley believes online integration into existing games will come first. Tecmo unveils new PSP title: Undead Knights
Good morning fellow PSP gamers, there's a new game to read about this morning. It comes from Tecmo -- who haven't released a game on PSP since Tokobot in 2005. The company's new title is called Undead Knights, as revealed in this week's issue of Famitsu. Scheduled for release next year, this survival horror title will focus on fighting "hordes of zombies" and -- like most developers working on new PSP titles -- it will include 4-player ad hoc
Tenchu 4 Isn’t A Wii Exclusive? It’s Coming To The PSP Too?
The OFLC just rated Tenchu 4 and in the land down under it’s considered as a multiplatform game. Most Wii exclusives like the recently rated We Cheer are rightfully only listed as a Nintendo Wii game. Tenchu 4 is not. This news comes after we had an e-mail exchange with a member of the Tenchu 4 staff who told us they were working on “Tenchu 4 PSP”. I wrote this news off as a typo, but with the OFLC listing Tenchu 4 as a multiplatform game I think this was an accidental leak to us. Also possibly related is Acquire’s Tokyo Game Show line up. Tenchu 4 is on there, of course, Dungeons & Dam is underneath it sitting right on top of an unannounced game. Perhaps, this slot will be used for a Tenchu 4 PSP port.
Job listing reveals more on LittleBigPlanet PSP rumor
Back in April we've heard rumors that the huge PS3 title out in the latter half of this month, LittleBigPlanet, would be getting its very own PSP title. Today, reader libertine pointed us to a SCEE job listing which refers to a position for "PSP game engine lead" whose job is to oversee "LittleBigPlanet projects." Whatever could this mean? Can we expect a handheld version of the dream-creation sim or can we expect to see some sort of LBP PS3-to-PSP integration?
Update: Eurogamer had a chat with Media Molecule's Mark Healy where-in the MM co-founder legitimizes the possibility of LBP on PSP: "There's definitely scope for a PSP version. We've had discussions and talks, [but] nothing concrete at the moment."
Blow says XBLA's Braid is 'feasible' on PSP
If you've got an Xbox 360, you've most likely have 1) heard of Braid and just how amazing it is or 2) already have it and enjoying it as we write this. Needless to say, those without the green-lit box have been sidelined and left curious like a child peering into a toystore window. However, Braid's main man Jonathan Blow gives the starry-eyed child in all of us a brief glint of hope as he says a portable version of the game would be most feasible on the PSP if ever there were to be a mobile version.
In a recent interview conducted by Joystiq, Blow was asked about making a handheld version of the game. He responded saying that a DS version would be out of the question and that there would be no way to control the game on an iPhone. While the answers were mostly negative for those devices, Blow had more positive things to say about a PSP version; he cited that a direct-to-download model would work smoothly as the "music streaming stuff in Braid would not work off a UMD." He did, however, say that the market for downloadable titles is still not there on the PSP -- though we'd like to differ as direct downloadable games are appearing every week. Perhaps Mr. Blow would change his mind if the downloadable services for PSP picked up steam.
Rumor: Firmware 5.0 = PS Store, new RSS, screen capture
It wasn't too long ago that firmware 4.0 (and higher) dropped on our laps, and we're already hearing about the next major revision to hit the handheld: the big five-o. The word on the street (and by street we mean French website PSPGen) is that firmware 5.0 is currently in the hands of an unknown French dev studio and it will include several key features such as that direct-to-PS Store functionality we've heard so much about.
Other features like a revamped RSS reader would (*gasp*) be able to read text files. The inclusion of a screen capture tool echoes another rumor which is also said to be available in the upcoming PS3 Firmware 2.5. Regarding this, parallel development for screen grabs does seem to make a whole lot of sense.

Außerdem wird Sony die neue PSP 3000 bestimmt sehr stark promoten, das sie kurz nach der TGS am 15. Oktober in Japan erscheint.

SE wird wohl Dissidia promoten wohlen und hierzu 1-2 weitere Charaktere zeigen wie z.B. Cloud oder Terra... Wahrscheinlich wird man ein weiteren Port bzw. Remake ankündigen, es würde dann wohl Vagrant Story werden, da es laut FFT Producer Akitoshi Kawazu "the next natural candidate” für solche Projekte sei.
Capcom:
• Sengoku Basara: Battle Heroes
Capcom zeigt also offiziell bis jetzt nur einen PSP-Titel. Vielleicht wird endlich nach den ganzen Gerüchten etc. Devil May Cry PSP oder RE PSP angekündigt
