Voices for Wanda, Carrot, and Pedro Announced

With the premiere of the much anticipated Zou arc a mere two days away, the official One Piece website announced the Japanese voice actors for Wanda, Carrot, and Pedro. Fumiko Orikasa, Kanae Itō, and Shin-ichiro Miki will be voicing these three key characters respectively.

The following are some tidbits about the new characters from the announcement:

A jaguar mink and captain of the Guardians of the Whale Forest. A deeply trusting individual with a virtuous personality.

This will be Fumiko Orikasa’s second time voicing a One Piece character, her first character being Miss Valentine from the Alabasta arc. She is also acclaimed as the voice of Rukia Kuchiki of Bleach and Riza Hawkeye of Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood.

Kanae Itō is also returning after her contribution as the voice for a young Boa Hancock. Notable roles include Yui of Sword Art Online, Nana Astar Deviluke of To Love-Ru, and Elsie de Lute Ima of The World Only God Knows.

Shin-ichiro Miki will be a newcomer to the One Piece scene, but he is a veteran voice actor who has contributed to several big titles over the years. He was the voice of James from Pokémon, Kisuke Urahara from Bleach, and Roy Mustang from Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, to name a few.

Once again, the Zou anime arc will premiere in two days on July 31!

One Piece Film Gold Festival: An Island of Gold

On July 16, Odaiba’s annual summer festival returned to Fuji TV Headquarters in Tokyo. This year’s event called “Odaiba Minna no YUME-TAIRIKU” (Odiaba – Everyone’s Dream Continent) features a variety of exhibits, food and live music. One of these exhibits is the One Piece Film GOLD Festival. Upon entering, you are greeted by 13-foot golden Luffy statue. I saw a few of these kind of statues around Tokyo but this one was the best looking I have seen in terms of detail. It made for a good photo opportunity.golden_luffy2Speaking of photo opportunities, statues of the Straw Hats could be found throughout the area giving visitors a chance to pose with their favorite character. The only downside is that each crew member stands on a pedestal which makes most of them too tall for a proper photo.SHC2The largest feature by far was the inflatable Gran Tesoro slide. I skipped this particular ride but it looked like everyone in line was having a good time!slide2An area dedicated to future releases sat in a building made up to look like the streets of Gran Tesoro.

Large glass cases filled with new figures were on display and various movie illustrations lined the walls. In addition, kiosks with playable versions of some of the One Piece video games gave visitors a chance to see updated content.usopp_robinAs expected, there was a store selling merchandise. The “Gold Stella Goods Shop” sits behind the statues of Sanji, Brook and Nami. Most of the items focus on the movie and can be found in Jump Shops or Mugiwara Stores. There are some festival-specific items such as t-shirts, bracelets and tote bags that can only be purchased at this location. The shop also has a Film GOLD purikura (photo sticker booth).SHC1There was also a Baratie lunch truck serving Luffy’s favorite “meat on a bone” as well as some devil fruit related snacks. The menu differs from the actual restaurant located nearby. If you’re visiting and choosing between the two, go for the restaurant. It has a much bigger menu and will also be closing at the end of September.

The Odaiba Summer Festival was a lot of fun. Although the One Piece area is not very large, the amount of different exhibits makes it worth the ¥2,000 ($20.00) admission fee. The festival will be open daily until August 31 from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm. More information can be found by going to Fuji Television’s site.

‘One Piece Film: Gold’ German Home Video Release Coming April 17

Kazé Anime is ready to bring One Piece Film: Gold to home video next year.

According to Amazon Germany, One Piece Film: Gold is coming to DVD and Blu-ray on April 17, 2017. The movie will be available for €22.99 on both Blu-ray and DVD. In addition, there will be a special Limited Deluxe Edition available for purchase, which will cost €29.99.

Hab jetzt Film Gold gesehen und er war ganz gut abeer Film Z hat die Messlatte sehr hochgelegt, da kommt er lange nicht dran. Tesoro war jetzt auch nicht so der geniale Bösewicht. Trotzdem hatte ich viel Spass und gab geniale Momente. Vermisse aber die Szene mit Doflamingo oder hab ich die übersehen?
 
Stimmt. Die Szene war nicht mit drin. An einer Stelle...

sagt er ja nur, dass er sich den Stress mit Doflamingo ersparen konnte dank den Strohhüten
 
Hab ein wenig aufgeholt und bin nun bei EPisode 758 oder so
der Mink Tribe ist echt super.. Besonders Carrot is super :D
waere cool, wenn sie ins Team kommen wuerde xD
 
Hab den Film heute auch auf Deutsch im Kino gesehen, er war super :) Leider hatte ich nicht die Wahl ob jap. oder deutsche Synchro. Ich schaue mir den definitiv nochmal auf O-Ton an bei Gelegenheit. So gut wie SW oder Z fand ich ihn allerdings nicht. Optisch war er dafür aber ein Stück überlegen. Da waren schon echt geile Szenen dabei. Der OST ließ vergleichsweise leider auch zu Wünschen übrig.
