July 3, 2005 - At a share holders meeting today, Nintendo Co. Ltd.'s president, Saturo Iwata, revealed that the company's next generation game console, code-named Revolution, would be able to wirelessly output to multiples televisions. He went on to explain that this would, "add an exciting, new element to multiplayer games," and would, "give developers a tool to deliver creative and fun gaming expierences."

Iwata revealed that Nintendo co-developed this technology with wireless solutions expert Broadcom. Iwata said, "By utilizing Broadcom's wireless technology, Nintendo can provide the high performance connectivity capabilities that will truly make users of Revolution say, 'Wow!'" Earlier this year, Broadcom announced a strategic partnership with Nintendo to provide its next generation consoles with wireless broadband technologies.

While Iwata did not go into any specifics about implementation of this technology, it seems that the Revolution will be able to output different images to different devices. Theoretically, then, the Revolution could allow players to play games in rooms other than that which the Revolution is in, or have multiplayer games with each person at a different TV, but playing the game on the same Revolution. However, all of this is currently nothing more than speculation. Nintendo's cryptic comments could easily mean something entirely different.

At May's E3 event, Saturo Iwata commented that the Revolution will fundamentally change the way in which controller, console, television and wifi interact. Could this new innovation from Nintendo be the change Iwata had in mind? Maybe. We will have to wait and see until more information is released.

Vielleicht kann die große Datenmenge von HDTV nicht übertragen werden und deshalb unterstützt es die Revolution nicht.

Unter den wirklich zahlreichen Gerüchten waren ja auch welche, über einen angeblichen Projektor.
Außerdem wurde von einer Zusammenarbeit mit der NASA gesprochen, was ja einige (u.a. auch ich) für ziemlich unglaubwürdig hielten.

Hm, wie soll das ablaufen? Ist dann jeder mit nur einem Fernseher bei so einem Feature benachteiligt? Muss ich demnächst Leuten sagen: "Ahja, vergesst nicht eure Fernseher mit zu bringen damit wir ein bisschen Multiplayer Spaß haben können"?

Wie, glaubst du man kann auch auf einem Spielen? :o

Is halt von der PS3 "geklaut"... Die kann man ja
auch mit 2 identischen, "günstigen" HDTV`s arbeiten...

Ja abermit dem Unterschied das Nintendo es über W-lan machen wird/angeblich nicht wie Sony.

WLan? Wohl eher Funk (ich weiß dass WLan über Funk läuft)
Ich hatte mal einen Sender und Empfänger, womit man über Funk Video/Audiogignale versenden konnte.
Ich freu mich schon meinen Nachbarn beim zocken zu beobachten.

Den Empfänger muss man sicher extra kaufen, Sender wahrscheinlich auch, den man dann vielleicht über USB anschließt. Nintendo will die Konsole ja so günstig wie möglich machen.

Über Wlan? Ich denke es wird eher so wie die QuickShare Funktion von Sony Ericsson Handys, per Bluetooth wird ein Signal an ein Bluetooth-Scartstecker gesendet was auf dem Fernseher ausgegeben wird.

Finde das ist ne total unsinnige Erweiterung, da sollen sie lieber die Konsole günstig halten als sowas einzubauen.. da fänd ich sogar hdtv weitaus sinnvoller.

Im Moment gibts einige Gerüchte, dass am 9. Juli, der als Ace vom Gamespot Forum bekannte User, Infos und Pics leaken will.
