PS4/PS5/PC Final Fantasy VII Remake (First on PS4) - Spoilerfrei!

@KHIII in 2018....ja sicher :ugly:

Cloud Strife’s design changed for Final Fantasy VII Remake; Nomura says it’s closest to the original

Fans who attended the “Farewell Stories” Final Fantasy 30th anniversary exhibition in Roppongi Hills, Tokyo got a first look at some new screenshots for the upcoming Final Fantasy VII Remake alongside a surprise appearance from director Tetsuya Nomura.
The new screenshots were shown exclusively for those who attended the event, so unfortunately there are no images for us to see. However, fans were still able to share some details regarding the screenshots they saw and what the developers had to say about them.
Some fans revealed that there has been a change in Cloud’s design. According to the development leader Naoki Hamaguchi, this new design received the go-ahead from director Tetsuya Nomura, and while it was a struggle for the team, the hard work seems to have paid off. Nomura went as far as acknowledging the new design as “the closest design to the original [Cloud design] up until now.”
A fan described Cloud’s new look as “more natural.” Nomura and Hamaguchi mentioned that “while Cloud may look this way, he was a dork. I believe those of you who played the original will understand what I mean by saying he’s a dorky character.” According to Siliconera, it’s likely we will get to see more of the youthful side of Cloud in FFVIIR rather than the always-serious one we’ve seen outside the original game.
The four screenshots also showed other members of AVALANCHE, with one fan describing Biggs as “super handsome,” Wedge as “refreshingly chubby” and Jessie as “cute!”
The fans who had attended the event also mentioned that Square Enix will not be sharing these screenshots to the public for a while.
Final Fantasy VII Remake is currently in development for PlayStation 4.

Final Fantasy VII Remake progress revealed in a new job listing for “core members”

Square Enix has recently put up a new job listing, seeking level planners for Final Fantasy VII Remake. The recruitment message offers information on the role’s requirements as well as a progress update on the game’s development.
View the highlights of the job listing below:
  • A major project of fully remaking Final Fantasy VII on PlayStation 4.
  • Can work in the best development environment!
  • Gain experience in a flat organization, use your talents to your heart’s content.
  • Recruiting core members for the project!
  • Work on a big title for a chance to help your career!
  • Enjoy flexibility with discretionary work system and good benefits.
As level planner for the game, you’ll be responsible for organizing the workflow of location development, create and produce level designs for each assigned location, and implement data utilizing Unreal Engine 4.
On the current state of the project, Square Enix wrote:
“While Final Fantasy VII Remake’s programs for general functions and contents are being tested within the development team as required, the part about reproducing the original work in high-quality graphics is reaching a satisfactory standard, and we’ve come to the conclusion that in order to meet fan expectations we must increase its quality another step higher.
“Therefore, in addition to the current members for the Final Fantasy VII Remake development, we must establish a core group that includes level planners, battle planners, designers, engineers, and various types of jobs to tackle on the production of the big title.
“We expect those of you who apply for this position to become an active core member.”
The company stresses that the job recruitment is by no means a request for last-minute replacements for dealing with work volume. As it stands, the development team are currently in the brainstorming phase of creating a world of Final Fantasy VII fitting for modern times. Square Enix hopes to add members that can work on various levels within the game and come up with ideas for what they’d like to do with the remake’s charming characters.
Final Fantasy VII Remake is currently in development for PlayStation 4.

Not a “remake.” “Creation” is the mission we were given

1997. With dedicated fans and the like even now 20 years after release, it is no exaggeration to say that Final Fantasy VII, which boasts over 11 million total shipments and download sales in the worldwide market, is the masterpiece of the series loved by fans all over the world.

And now we have announced the release of a Final Fantasy VII remake. Due to the huge reaction, we are aiming at nothing less than a “new creation” not limited to a simple remake.

It should be noted that this is an internal production. After 20 years, the staff behind the original Final Fantasy VII, who are top-rankers in the industry even now, are reuniting. A project to create “a title that surpasses the original” is starting full-scale.
