Square Enix held one last live stream for Dissidia Final Fantasy NT before its Japanese release tomorrow, and the developers shared hints on the six DLC characters we’ll see in its Season Pass.
Below are the hints provided for the six DLC characters and which half of the numbered Final Fantasy series they’re from:
- New male character (from new half)
- New male character (from old half)
- New female character (from new half)
- New male character (from new half)
- Female character who previously appeared in Dissidia Final Fantasy series (from new half)
- New male character (from new half)
Our guesses for the fifth one are either Final Fantasy X‘s Yuna who was in Dissidia 012 Final Fantasy or Final Fantasy XI’s Prishe who appeared in Dissidia 012 Final Fantasy and more recently in Dissidia Final Fantasy Opera Omnia.
It was also revealed during the live stream that each DLC character will be available for 800 yen plus tax each. The Season Pass will be a set with all six characters for 4000 yen plus tax. The pack will also include two color variations and two weapons for all six characters.
You can check out out another recent hint on the DLC characters in our previous report or details on its setting and many characters from a recent interview with the developers here.
Dissidia Final Fantasy NT releases in Japan on January 11, 2018 for PlayStation 4. The game releases in North America and Europe on January 30.
Dissidia Final Fantasy NT’s key developers recently had a lot to say about its setting and many heroes in this week’s issue of Famitsu magazine. They also dropped a little hint for characters to be added via DLC. [Thanks, Ryokutya2089.]
The developers mentioned that they feared the story could get a little too complicated with so many characters on the roster. With the likes of Ramza, Kain, Ace, and such, there wasn’t much spotlight time for characters other than the main heroes. That said, they might be lacking a bit on event scenes but this is something Square Enix would like to add for them in the future.
It was mentioned that the reason they didn’t add many scenes was because the game will be adding more characters via Season Pass. Here’s a bit from the interview with a little more elaboration that gives us a little hint on what kind of characters we can expect to see:
Takeo Kujiraoka, Director: “There are some characters that have an extremely low amount of scenes in the story. This couldn’t be helped as they share relationships with characters that will be added through DLC later. Among them are some characters that will play key roles in the story.”
To put it simply, we still don’t know which characters got the short end of the stick when it comes to story scenes, but that means once you get to play the game you can keep an eye out and take a good guess, as the DLC characters will likely come from the games of the characters with less screen time.
You can read more details on the characters, setting and system info from the interview in our previous report.
