Switch Promotional Video with Anime Footage Streamed

Adaptation of naked ape's "stylish crime action" manga to ship in October

The Animate.tv video-streaming website has posted a two-minute promotional video in narrowband and broadband versions for the first volume of the Switch original video animation series on Thursday. The anime studio ACTAS, Inc. is adapting naked ape's "stylish crime action" manga about two rookie narcotic cops in Japan. Kai (Jun Fukuyama) and Hal (Takahiro Sakurai) go undercover to investigate a new drug called "Funny Angel." The promotional video features the "Find Out" opening theme song by MIRANOSAND, who also sings the ending them "Your Hand." The two volumes of the Switch anime series will ship in Japan in October and December; Viz Media released the fourth volume of the original manga in North America earlier this month.

4min trailer zur dritten Jigoku Shoujo staffel. ich habe nach der ersten folge der ersten staffel schon aufgehört werde aber irgendwann wohl mal weitergucken

mit das langweiligste was ich mir jemals angesehen habe, wobei ich die erste folge noch sehr überzeugend fand, aber 4 oder 5 mal das selbe ist irgendwann nixxx besonderes mehr :O

Director Akira Kurosawa's Final Script Gets Anime Film

2010's The Mask of the Black Death adapts Poe's "The Masque of the Red Death"

The Mask of the Black Death, the last script that legendary Oscar-winning director Akira Kurosawa co-wrote before his death in 1998, will finally be animated for a planned theatrical release in 2010. Kurosawa and his writing collaborator Masato Ide (Red Beard, Kagemusha, Ran) based their script on "The Masque of the Red Death," Edgar Allan Poe's 1842 horror short story about a prince's attempt to escape a plague while holding a masquerade in his abbey. Kurosawa and Ide's version resets the setting to a fictional version of Russia at the beginning of the 20th century, when most of humanity faces a deadly contagion. The suspense story deals with the human condition when people are pushed to extremes and despair.

Kurosawa began writing the script after his 1975 film Dersu Uzala, another film set in Russia. He and his only son, executive producer Hisao Kurosawa, had initially planned for the film to be shot in 1998. The film's producers spent the previous year in the United States and Europe to secure financing and search for a director. (The Mask of the Black Death would be the first script Kurosawa co-wrote but did not direct himself.) Ever since Kurosawa's death in 1988 until now, however, those plans have been shelved. Kurosawa never directed an animated feature, although his Yōjimbo and Seven Samurai films inspired the anime series Kaze no Yojimbo and Samurai 7, respectively.

Japan's Kurosawa Production and Lotus, America's Lexicon Film Entertainment and Harbor Light Entertainment, and Singapore's Upside Down Entertainment are jointly producing the film.

The Mask of the Black Death is one of two theatrical projects that will celebrate the 100th anniversary of Kurosawa's birth. The other project is a Hollywood remake of Rashōmon, the 1950 film that captured the attention of the world's film critics. The movie eventually won the Golden Lion at the Venice Film Festival and an honorary Oscar from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. The academy's California headquarters hosted the world premiere of the original Rashōmon's digital restoration on Thursday evening. The academy is also hosting "Akira Kurosawa: Film Artist," a three-month exhibition of original drawings, props, costumes, screenplays, and other historical items from his seven-decade film career.

The series marks the 25th anniversary of Studio Nue's classic science-fiction franchise that combines transforming robotic mecha, love triangles, and interplanetary war.

Bandai Namco Games announced on Tuesday that Tales of Symphonia: Tethe'alla Chapter, the new OVA sequel series to the Tales of Symphonia the Animation series, has been green-lit. The announcement was made in Tokyo at Tales of Festival 2008, the first event devoted entirely to the 13-year-old "Tales of" role-playing game franchise and its anime/manga spinoffs. Voice cast members from various incarnations of the franchise appeared at the event to perform skits and announce new releases.

Fiat to Launch Limited-Edition Lupin III Car

Designs featured on new Fiat Nuova 500s & racer's Fiat Yamaha M1 motorcycle

Not-So-Daily Link of the Day The racing website Crash.net reports that Italian auto maker Fiat is launching a limited-edition run of its new Fiat Nuova 500 cars with an image of Monkey Punch's iconic manga and anime character, the gentleman thief Lupin III. The Nuova 500's predecessor and inspiration, the classic 1957 Fiat 500 "cinquecento," has played a major role in various Lupin III works, such as the Hayao Miyazaki-directed Lupin III: The Castle of Cagliostro and this year's Lupin III: Green vs Red television movie (pictured at right). The cars will be available starting in the second half of 2009.

In addition, Fiat has also designed a Lupin-inspired paint scheme for the Fiat Yamaha M1 motorcycle that Spanish racer Jorge Lorenzo used in the Japanese Grand Prix race of the International Motorcycling Federation's Road Racing World Championship Season on Sunday. Fiat said that its goal is to "reach out to motorbike racing fans through projects linked to the world of creativity and design so that it can communicate above all with younger members of its audience."

Professor Layton Spiele werden in Anime umgesetzt

Der Spieleentwickler Level5 hat letzten Freitag bekanntgegeben dass deren bekannte Spieleserie Professor Layton in einen Anime umgesetzt wird.

In den Spielen muss der Spieler verschiedene Rätsel in einer Fantasywelt lösen. Die Handlung im Anime ist noch unbekannt, wird aber vermutlich auf dem selbem Prinzip aufbauen.
Ausserdem hat Level5 schon letztes Jahr einen Professor Layton Live-Action Film angekündigt.

Level5 ist unter anderem mitverantwortlich für Dragon Quest VIII und Rogue Galaxy.

Appleseed Genesis: Produktion der TV Serie gestoppt

ANN berichtet, daß das Animationsstudio Radix mobanimation die Produktionsfirma Micott & Basara wegen unterlassener Zahlungen verklagt hat. Radix sollte die im März angekündigte und Genesis getaufte CG Serienfortsetzung der Appleseed Reihe animieren, wurde für die bisher geleistete Arbeit nach eigenen Aussagen jedoch noch nicht (ausreichend) entlohnt. Zudem hatte Micott & Basara Anfang Juli die Produktion der Serie aus unbekannten Gründen gestoppt, ohne Radix die Gründe dafür vorzulegen.
Bis die beiden Streithähne sich geeinigt haben gibt es also nichts neues aus dem von Ghost in the Shell Schöpfer Masamune Shirow erdachten Appleseed Universum

Ein Prof. Layton Anime? Nice. Das Spiel fand ich ziemlich gut, soweit ich gezockt hab.

Zum CHÄOS;HEAD-Anime:
Momentan hab ich wirklich keine Ahnung, wie sie das Ding zu nem Anime machen wollen. Madhouse wird's wohl schon hinbekommen, aber der VN ist einfach zu verrückt...

und das meiste spielt in den Gedanken des Main-Chars ab. Dazu kommt, dass seine Stimme nervt. Das durch die ganze Episode zu hören, wäre unerträglich, IMO.

btw. für die, mit Japanisch-Zeichensatz: die Kana&Kanji in meiner Signatur sind ein Zitat aus C;H. Lasst euch überraschen. ^^

Und zu den LB-Bildern:
Nicht schlecht gemacht.
Obwohl das Saya-Bild unrealistisch ist, passt nicht zu ihrem verbissenen Charakter (aah, das erinnert mich an ihre herrlichen Sebsterniedrigungs-Szenen... )
