ANNDenpa teki na Kanojo Light Novels Get Anime
Novels with crossovers with Kure-nai series from same author, artist
The October issue (on sale on September 4) of Shueisha's Jump Square magazine will announce that an anime adaptation of Kentarō Katayama's Denpa teki na Kanojo light novels is in the works. (The Amazon online store began shipping copies of this Jump Square issue early.) Katayama also wrote the light novels that inspired the Kure-nai manga and anime series. Yamato Yamamoto drew the original novel illustrations for both Denpa teki na Kanojo and Kure-nai, and there are character crossovers between the two series. The editor-in-chief of Denpa teki na Kanojo's Super Dash Bunko imprint had hinted earlier that there would be news about this series in Jump Square's October issue.
The story centers on a belligerent delinquent named Jū Jūzawa and a strange girl named Ame Ochibana who suddenly vows complete loyalty to him. "Denpa teki na Kanojo" or literally, "electromagnetic girlfriend," refers to the denpa-kei sub-genre of stories imply that bizarre behaviors are caused by electromagnetic waves.

ANNBeck Manga Side Story to Run in Japan in October
Story to depict crucial day in life of significant side character
The October issue (on sale on September 6) of Kodansha's Monthly Shonen Magazine has announced that Harold Sakuishi's Beck rock-and-roll manga will get a side story in the next issue on October 6. The original manga portrays the rise of a Japanese rock band and how that rise changes the lives of the band members. The manga ended just this past June in Japan, and 12 million copies of the first 33 volumes have been published so far. The 34th and final volume will ship in Japan in October. For the 34th volume's special edition bundle, real-life stylist Daisuke Iga designed a T-shirt with the logos of the story's Grateful Sound 9 concert and various fictional gig spots.
October's 77-page side story will depict a crucial day in the life of a significant side character. Specifically, it will show "The Last Day of Eddie Lee," an American rocker who played a major role in lives of the two main members of the Beck rock band.
Tokyopop published the first 12 volumes in North America, and Funimation completed its release of BECK: Mongolian Chop Squad anime version in January.
