21. Xbox360 vs. Wii vs. PS3

Da geb ich dir Recht, mich störts auch nicht, fand es bei FFXII recht gut gelöst, es ist schon noch linear nur bleiben einem allerdings trotzdem genügend Freiheiten zum erforschen. Früher war dass ja auch ab gewissen Punkten so gegeben dass man frei die Weltkarte erkunden konnte, schön dass es das in FF vs XIII wieder geben wird.

Ich bin schon gespannt was uns mit BD,LO,FFversus und FF13 so erwartet.

und weil das nicht genug zu sein scheint:

Yukan Fuji is reporting that Sega, Capcom and other major makers are moving towards making more Western-oriented games, and in doing so, are shifting to the Xbox (i.e. "away from Sony" - their words, not mine).

For example, in the beginning, Capcom announced they were developing 5 games but this has now been reduced to 1, with 4 projects having stopped, according to industry insiders.

In addition to PS3 development being difficult, the machine has not sold as well as expected so game makers are shifting to Xbox, which has sold very well in the West. How well the game machine can sell will depend on how much effort companies put into making games for it. By this reasoning, PS3 looks to be approaching a serious condition.

So this ridiculous rumor has finally hit the West. I wanted to post about it, but as a Junior Member cannot

Yukan Fuji is the Japanese equivalent of the Weekly World News, people. They were most recently notorious for stirring up a shitstorm about 2ch closing. (As of 11:20 AM, March 19, Japan time, 2ch is still very much open.) It should also be noted that the author is a notorious and avowed Sony hater.

Let's take a look at Capcom's announced PS3 titles.

Devil May Cry 4. So far into production (a completely glitch-free, lovely, 60fps version of the game was playable six months ago at TGS), it would seem rather odd to cancel it now. It is also apparently getting new media in next week's Famitsu.

Resident Evil 5. Always announced as dual platform. If Capcom doesn't release this game on PS3 as well, their potential market in Japan is limited to 350,000~400,000 Xbox 360 owners. If they released it tomorrow that number would be increased by 800,000. It makes quite obvious business sense to continue with the dual platform plan, if they want to sell the game in Japan as well.

Monster Hunter 3. So far, this series is only successful in Japan (and wildly so, on Sony platforms). To release it on Xbox 360 only would make little sense, unless Capcom has sudden confidence in Monster Hunter taking the West by storm. Further, there are already interviews with its director on Sony's Japanese PS3 site.

So they've cancelled four PS3 games, leaving one, right? Which of the above might that be?

Saw this on 2ch, can't believe somebody actually bothered to post it. . .

Source originates from this guy who has some "business learning" TV show on PerfectTV satellite, on channel 754. Which is based on his web broadcasts. If someone wants to bother he offers his shows on his website but you have to pay for his 2-week "business course".

Armored Core 4 und die XBOX360 Version sieht wieder besser aus. Hmm... gibt einem schon zum nachdenken. PS3 Vesion ist zu hell, kein Kontrast usw.. denke nicht das man hier was it der Helligkeit etc.. regeln könnte. :-? Manchmal nervt es schon das die PS3 immernoch schlechter abschneidet.

neues RPG in entwicklung bei Level 5:

Le célèbre studio de développement japonais Level-5, à l'origine notamment de Dragon Quest : L'odyssée du Roi Maudit sur PlayStation 2 et qui développe actuellement Dragon Quest IX : Protectors of the Sky sur Nintendo DS pour le compte de Square Enix, annonce dans le dernier numéro du magazine japonais Famitsu qu'un nouveau jeu est en ce moment en développement pour célébrer le dixième anniversaire de la société fondée en 1998. Il est question d'un RPG 'qui ne contiendra pas des phases de combat.', du moins le joueur ne devrait pas pouvoir combattre. Le projet devrait être dévoilé cette année. Aucun autre détail n'est indiqué pour le moment, à suivre.

Lag bei mir daran, dass ich am WE keine Konsole zum Gamen da hatte, da der Wii gerade umgebaut wird und die PS2 nen Kumpel hatte...

Naja. Daneben erhoff ich auch noch viele NTSC-Games, vor allem japanische abspielen zu können.
Da der Freeloader ja anscheinend ziemlich lange auf sich warten lässt, ist dies die einzige Möglichkeit.
(Boah. Ich hasse Nintendo dafür, dass sie die Konsole Regionlocked gemacht haben...)
