February 9, 2006 - Nintendo today revealed that, starting next month, the company will offer free downloadable game demos and other downloadable content at thousands of participating retail locations around the US.
Retail stores such as Gamestop and Electronics Boutique will set up kiosks that will enable users to download software using the Nintendo DS wireless capabilities and Download Play option. These game and software demos will stay resident in memory on the system until players turn off their system.
The first DS Download Service stations will include free demos of Tetris DS, Brain Age: Train Your Brain in Minutes a Day, Mario Kart DS, Meteos, True Swing Golf and Pokemon Trozei, along with a Metroid Prime Hunters video clip. The selection of games and other downloadable content at DS Download Service kiosks will refresh quarterly.
