Though the PS3 and Wii were the new kids on the block, the sales numbers proved that Microsofts new console is still a hot seller. The Xbox 360 came in first with 511,000 units sold. In 2nd came Nintendos Wii, with 476,000 systems sold. Finally, Sonys Blu-Ray enabled PS3 was able to sell through 197,000 systems. <---
To compliment Xbox 360s dominance, Gears of War sold the most in software, with over 1 million games sold. Final Fantasy XII, and The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess rounded out the top three.
Though Xbox 360 was the console title winner, consumers seemed to prefer touching to playing. The Nintendo DS managed to sell 918,000 units, making it the overall best seller for the month.
All in all, the US game retailer moved $771 million worth of hardware, a 69% increase from this time last month.
