Hier hat sich einer aus nem Forum gedanken wegen
den Mii´s gemacht. Klingt ganz interessant.
The people that know me on this forum already know
that I'm not one to take new news stories as what it is,
especially when it comes to Nintendo. I always think
outside the box and this abnormal thinking has led
me to see the true potential of these Miis.
If you haven't heard, when you are creating your Mii,
you have an option to turn Mingle on/off. What Mingle
does is allow your Mii character to travel to other
Wii consoles and participate in something called
"Mii Parade" through a Wifi connection. Now obviously
Nintendo has not really talked about this feature
nor the Mii Parade feature and I made sure of this
by going back and checking every video about the
Mii channel. Heck, they really didn't even let the press
touch the Mii channel or the other channels, they
had reps doing all the work. I believe the reasoning
is due to the fact that they will be releasing all their
online plans soon so they didn't want to spoil any
surprise they have in store. Let me get to the poin
t though.
In one of the newest Iwata Ask features
(it hasn't been translated properly into English yet)
they talk about the Mii channel in a little more detail.
Here's the link:

The most striking thing that came from this
article was towards the end when they were
talking about improving Miis by visiting different
Wii consoles. Hmmmmm, interesting isn't it.
Now let me quote a little something that comes
from the Wii Sports page on this very site. [=http://wii.nintendo.com/software_wii_sports.htmlurl]Click here for reference[/url]
"Players can use their own Mii caricatures in
the game and play them against their
friends' Miis for a more personalized experience.
As players improve, their Miis' skill levels
will increase, so that they can see exactly how
much better they've become."
It all starts to add up. Apparently your Miis have
game specific attributes. Seemingly, if you
play Wii Sports baseball a lot, your Mii accuracy
goes up and starts to have a better connect
percentage (this is just speculation, I don't
know how it'll work but this seems to be the
most likely case). Then apparently, the Mii
can travel to someone else console and become
an opponent to whoever is playing the game,
with its attributes in which would make it a
more challenging opponent. So it could be
like online multiplayer only instead of you
connecting with another player to challenge
him/her, it's your Mii. According to the new
Iwata Ask, the more and more they connect
with others, the more and more they evolve,
pretty much giving them a sense of maturity.
So now imagine, if you will, that Nintendo creates
this cooking game that allows you to use your
Mii character in it and get some cooking
attributes up. How about the new Brain Age game
and if Nintendo allowed you to use your Mii character
in that game to get his/her intelligence attribute up?
Now imagine a communication channel/game that
Nintendo will create
(
http://wii.ign.com/articles/732/732873p1.html, 5th paragraph)
that will allow all these games attributes to come
together as one. This communication game/channel
can be along the lines of Animal Crossing
(or it could be the next Animal Crossing) where
you can go around and talk to other players
and go to places to play little mini games with
others. In these mini games (for example,
a homerun derby), they pull attributes from
Wii Sports baseball and use these attributes
towards your Mii while playing the game.
There can be a restaurant where you can
cook dishes for people and use your cooking
skills to make more specialized dishes. Then
for intelligence, it can be used to have your
Mii learn skills that can be gain from these
mini-games that can be used in other games faster.
The possibilities are endless and something
I would actually call revolutionary. You are
rewarded for how much time you put into
these games and how many games you play.
This can also be considered an achievement
system in which instead of showing your
achievements through a number
(Gamerscore on Gamertags), it'll be shown
through your constantly evolving character.
In conclusion, this is a feature that I'm very
much looking forward to. Watching your
character grow and show how much he/she
has grown by traveling the world is a feature
that's completely mind-blowing. I'm really
looking forward to more information on this
particular feature and the games that Nintendo
and third parties have in-store for it.
Und hier hat ein andere sich Gedanken über
das Zusammenspiel von DS und Wii gemacht:
First image shows you that you can control the
channels on the DS and still keep it active
while your playing a Wii game. You can also
check your message board mail on the DS etc.
Second image shows how you can access
the Mii channel and actually create your own
characters using the DS as it saves it back to the Wii.
