Despite its several delays, in just about a month-and-a-half players will get to experience the final chapter of Nathan Drake’s journey in the upcoming Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, and those looking for another glimpse of the story can see just that in a new CGI trailer playing in theaters this weekend.
Sony has released a new CGI trailer for Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End that will mainly be seen in theaters this weekend alongside the release of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, though the trailer is also available now for everyone to see on YouTube, as the new CGI trailer shows how the final chapter of Uncharted will test Nathan Drake to his limits physically, mentally, and emotionally.

SOMA Passes 250,000 Copies Sold; Developer Frictional Games Expanding with Two New Projects

Originally released in the fall of last year, the tense and terrifying indie title SOMA, from Amnesia: The Dark Descent developers Frictional Games, received both critical acclaim and sales success so far, with the studio giving a new update on the game’s sales track and where the studio is heading, moving forward.
In a blog post from the company, Frictional Games detailed SOMA‘s success six months since its release in September of last year, detailing that the title has sold over 250,000 copies since launch, across all platforms (PC, Mac, Linux, and PS4).
Frictional added that the game’s sales track so far has been “pretty good,” adding that the title would need another 20,000-30,000 units for the title to recoup the company’s entire investment in the project. Specifically, the studio explained that daily sales for the game track at about 125 units per day, and along with boosts from sales on digital platforms, the studio expects SOMA to make a profit “well before this year is over.”
Katamari Creator “Uncomfortable” With Bandai Namco Allowing IP to be Developed By Others

Keita Takahashi, creator of the Katamari series, voiced his opinion on his blog concerning Bandai Namco using its “Catalog IP Open” project to allow others to develop titles for the franchise:
They will open their own IP of 21 games and Katamari is included (but no music). That means, you might be able to make new Katamari games but for only smart phone, web browser and new network device. Or might use it at school/class. But for only people/company in Japan. Sounds like they give us good creative opportunity to make something new one. But I’m uncomfortable/mixed feeling about this. I know Katamari is not mine, of course. I can’t blame their decision. But seems like they just couldn’t make the best use their IP despite they are game developer. I should buy back Katamari IP from them.
Valve is now allowing users to make their own Steam Controllers

Valve has released the computer-aided design (CAD) files for the Steam Controller to the public.
In a post on Steam, the company made available a .zip file that would allow anyone with the technical know-how to create their own version of the Steam Controller, or design accessories for it.
The files include the geometry of all “externally visible parts”, and Valve is encouraging users to 3D print and share their designs with the community.
Final Fantasy 15 main scenario to take around 50 hours, devs targeting 30fps

In a NicoNico livestream this week, per Siliconera, Tabata said the main Final Fantasy 15 scenario will take around 50 hours to complete, where as previous estimates had it at 40 hours. This is due to the game having “more volume” than originally planned.
The team isn’t working on the final stages of balancing, but at present making optimal balances. A frame rate of 30fps is the goal, but there are times where it “breaks 30.” Adjustments and optimizations will be made up to the day it goes gold.
Should the team be unable to provide a fixed rate of 30fps, the team will “do something different.” Tabata said the resolution will be revealed during the Final Fantasy 15 event in Los Angeles next week.
