NPD Totals US Video Game Revenue for May 2011

NPD has just released US video game revenues figures covering the four weeks ending May 28.
For the month of May 2011, hardware sales, software sales and accessory sales reached $743.1m - down 14% from last May. Software sales were $375.8m, down 19% while hardware fell 5% to $228.9m. Even accessories fell 6% compared to last May, to $114m in 2011.
In the previous month, April 2011, figures for hardware, software and accessories tallied $961.2m in total. Hardware sales accounted for $279.9m of the total, with software coming to $503.2m, and accessories making up the remaining $147.6m.
Last May video revenue figures were $823.5m in total for the USA video game market, of which $241.5m was hardware sales. Software sales reached $466.3m, with accessory sales at $115.7m.
NPD reported hardware sales in May at the following levels, in contrast to previous months - each month is four weeks.

Hardware will be filled in as it arrives. Nintendo's Wii figures, once they come reflect a May 15 price cut, which lifted sales for half the month.
