Valkyrie Profile Coming to Hardware other than DS?

The newest issue of Famitsuu featured an interview with Square Enix producer Wataru Katou (who had previously worked on Valkyrie Profile Lenneth and the PlayStation Portable versions of Star Ocean 1 and 2) and tri-Ace's Shunshuke Katsumoto. With only two months until the Japanese release of Valkyrie Profile: Toga wo Seou Mono (The Accused One), the interview's main topic naturally was the Valkyrie Profile series' first DS-based installment. That being said, the two producers also hinted at the popular series appearing on a hardware platform other than the DS in the future. They asked fans to look forward to some "interesting developments on another hardware platform" in the future.

As for Toga wo Seou Mono, the game is set to feature about as many endings as the original Valkyrie Profile. Branches in the storyline will determine which characters will join your party. The powerful magic feather protagonist Wilfred wields will play a key role in determing which branch the player will proceed on. While the producers mentioned the existence of a free map-like battle field, players can only clear this map once. In other words, it won't be possible to re-visit one map again and again to level up your party.

Valkyrie Profile: Toga wo Seou Mono will be available in Japan on October 2nd for 4,800 yen ($43.73 US).

TriAce liebt die Box. Denke auch, dass es darauf erscheint. Wenn das passiert ist die letzte 3A-Serie auch MS-Exklusiv wenn man mal von den handhelds absieht. Finds ehrlich gesagt nicht so gut aber im endeffekt ists mir auch egal. von 3A gefällt mir nur SO und das auch nur weils etwas anderes ist und kein 0815.

@DS-Version: kommt das mir nur so vor oder werden immer gleiche bilder gezeigt. es sieht irgendwie alles gleich aus. das spiel wird zwar geholt, auch wenns nicht die höchste priorität bei mir genießt.

Gefällt mir irgendwie net mehr - ich ahne schlechtes für das Spiel, bisher haben wir noch keine bewegten Bilder gesehen und noch kein tri Ace Dev hat sich wirklich zu dem Game geäußert - immer nur irgendwelche SE Produzenten Fritzen. Mit SO4 und IU scheint AAA ja eh recht ausgelastet - wird wohl net mehr als en hingeklatschtes Spin-Off.

Das wir noch nichts bewegtes gesehen haben find ich zwar auch schade, aber mich spricht das Spiel dennoch weiter an. Mir gefällt die Optik und das Setting, hab bisher auch noch kein VP gespielt, kann also nicht genau sagen ob es mir letztendlich gefallen wird.
Aber ich denke schon das ich es mir holen werde.

Jep, der Stil und die Charas sind nice - VP halt. Nur was das Gameplay angeht bin ich mir en bissel unsicher. Als Fan werd ichs trotzdem spielen (müssen).

Ja, die Fightszenen selbst sehen eigentlich ganz gut aus, konnts in der Schule net wirklich bewerten - hat dort geruckelt. Ma schauen wie es wird. Spiel wurd auch nach hinten verschobene, erscheint jetzt erst Ende Oktober.

Ich bin hin- und hergerissen. Einerseits scheint es bis auf die Kämpfe nicht wirklich ein VP zu sein, aber SRPGs sind für mich wie Viagra. Mal die Eindrücke aus Japan abwarten, wird eh erst 09 zu uns kommen.

Das Boxart sieht schonmal klasse aus.
