Ramayan MMO coming from Sony




In a bid to find the spark of individuality that could see the creation of the 'next big MMO' phenomenon, Sony Online Entertainment have teamed up with Virgin Comics to create a new MMO based on the Ramayan 3392 AD comic, which takes its inspiration from the ancient Indian poem the Ramayana.
The Sanskrit epic was composed somewhere between the 4th and 2nd Century BC, and is a part of the Hindu literary cannon. The style and themes of the poem were used in the 3392 AD comic, which offers a sci-fi spin on the classic tales, which are important to many young Indians.
The comic is set in a post-apocalyptic world, where Rama battles with the demon lord Ravan. Rama is the incarnation of god Vishnu. Sony hope by using this rich source material to craft a unique MMO, they can offer a compelling alternative to the myriad of Tolkienesque MMOs presently available.
"In a world increasingly dominated with games influenced by a western Tolkien mythos, Ramayan will offer gamers a chance to experience a whole new universe of characters and archetypes derived from one of the oldest cultures on Earth," explained Sharad Devarajan, boss of Virgin Comics.
"Our mission at Virgin Comics has always been to allow this generation of Indian youth to have a creative platform through which to speak to the world. Through this collaboration with the likeminded visionaries at SOE, our young Indian creators will make gaming history worldwide."

The AGency sieht echt gut aus, vor allem mit viel Humor :) Aber dieses Gods&Heroes sieht auch klasse aus. KOmmt das nur für Pc oder auch Ps3 ??

Gestern berichteten wir über eine angebliche Verschiebung des Actioners (zumindest in Europa) für die PlayStation 3. Laut der renomierten Gaming Website 1up stimmt das jedoch alles nicht und die Verwirrung ist nur auf die Inkompetenz der britischen Midway PR Abteilung zurückzuführen, die einfach vergaß, die PS3 Version zu erwähnen. Release (in Europa) ist also weiterhin der 17.09.2007.

Nur zur Info: In Deutschland kam keine PR Meldung bezüglich Stranglehold gestern heraus.

Glaubt ihr bei der Bioshock Überraschung handelt es sich um die Ankündigung der PS3 Version ???
In den Newscomments hat irgendjemand gemeint, Microsoft hätte einene Exklusivvertrag für Bioshock, weiß jemand ob das stimmt ???

Über einen Exklusivvertrag ist mir nichts bekannt, aber wenn es einen gibt dann nur für dieses Jahr.
Irrational Games äußerte sich bei den Fragen nach einer PS3 Version immer im übertragagenden Sinne mit "Bis zum Release der Xbxo360 Version äußern wir uns nicht über einen Umsetzung für einen andere Platform" oder "Die Entwicklung sollcher Titel sind heutzutage sehr kostspielig, da muss man schauen wie man am meisten Profit rausschlägt"

Und so wurde man wohl nicht antworten wenn es einen Exklusivvertrag gibt der eine PS3 Version Kategorisch ausschließt ;-)

Klingt nach einem zeitlichen Exklusivvertrag, denn ansonsten hätte man die PS3 Version schon angekündigt.Ich gehe von einer PS3 Version Anfang 2008 aus. Wahrscheinlich am 1.1.2008,damit es richtig knallt.

Stimmt schon, das mit den "Bis Release der......" klingt nach Zeitexklusivität. Eine halbes Jahr wäre wahrscheinlich, so das sie noch im ersten Quartal 2008 erscheint.
Und wenn eine Umsetzung kommt, bitte um eine gute Umsetzung, kein Lieblos Port.....
 
Castlevania Chronicles Coming To PS3, PSP Via PSN


The Entertainment Software Ratings Board may have let slip news of an upcoming PlayStation Network release with Konami's Castlevania Chronicles for the PLAYSTATION 3 and PSP recently rated by the organization. Castlevania Chronicles, for those not intimately familiar with their Castlevania remakes, was a PlayStation release from 2001, bringing the Japanese Sharp X68000 game Akumajō Dracula to North America for the first time. Akumajō Dracula was actually a remake of the original 8-bit Castlevania for the Famicom/NES. The U.S. version came late in the PlayStation's lifecycle and at a relatively high price for what was basically a remake of a remake... of a remake? It's confusing. Regardless of how many layers must be peeled away to get to the source, the game's addition to the PlayStation Network should give Belmont Clan fans a chance to take a crack at this old-school action-platformer.
It should also give Konami a chance to drum up more hype for its PSP release of another remake, Castlevania: The Dracula X Chronicles.

in 7 tagen gibt es endlich news zum Sony event von gestern- Allerdings sollte man laut gaffern nicht viel neues erwarten. Es war alles zwar sehr interessant, aber kein neues MEgaton oder eine andere große Ankündigung^^

Frage Darji, die K2 Infos die du gepostet hast, waren die von der GDC auf der Guerilla Games einen Vortag gehalten hat, oder kommt das noch?

Gibt es irgentwo ein Gameplay Video der PS3 Fassung von UT3?
