The long blue bar. The yellow block. And those darn zigzag things whose images stay on your brain. These familiar Tetris shapes started a generation of video game fans. Now Nintendo is putting a new spin on the classic with Tetris® DS, available March 20 exclusively for Nintendo DS?, which incorporates the use of Nintendo® Wi-Fi Connection, Nintendo's wireless gaming service.

Hard-core and casual gamers alike became obsessed with the original. Tetris DS builds on that emotional attachment by combining the original game with new types of game play that could only be possible on Nintendo DS.

Each of the six modes of play features a theme based on a classic Nintendo game, such as Super Mario Bros.®, The Legend of Zelda® or Metroid®. The traditional Tetriminos (falling blocks) and line-clearing strategy remain the staples of the game, but the touch screen adds a new element of interactivity.

Some modes give players special Tetris puzzles to solve. Others feature head-to-head action between two players, or massive wireless battles between 10 DS users, even if only one player has a game card. Players also can log onto Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection to compete in two- or four-player battles. Tetris DS even includes a point-based rating system based on players' battle results. Opponents can see one another's ratings, which indicate their skill levels.

Klasse! Sollte ja eigentlich auf der letzten E3 gezeigt werden, zumindest laut der Game Informer Liste, wo auch Metroid Dread zu finden war :D

Entry Material Agreement


Item 1.01 Entry into a Material Definitive Agreement.

On January 25, 2005, Nintendo of America Inc. ("Nintendo") and THQ Inc. ("Registrant") entered into a Confidential License Agreement for the Nintendo DS handheld platform. The agreement grants the Registrant the right to use certain of Nintendo's intellectual property to develop, publish and distribute video games for the Nintendo DS handheld platform until January 25, 2008 in all countries in the Western Hemisphere (including possessions and territories) in accordance with the terms of the agreement. Nintendo charges the Registrant certain amounts under its current pricing schedule, which prices includes including manufacturing as well as a royalty for the use of Nintendo's intellectual property. Nintendo has the right to approve each game, including the game's packaging, all printed materials distributed with the game and all marketing materials.

In addition, the Registrant must indemnify Nintendo with respect to all loss, liability and expense resulting from any claim against Nintendo involving the development, marketing, sale, or use of the Registrant's games, including any third party claims for intellectual property infringement or any federal, state or foreign civil or criminal actions, breach of any of the provisions of the agreement and any claims of or in connection with any personal or bodily injury (including death) or property damage.

Subject to a cure period under certain circumstances, the Agreement may be terminated upon written notice by Nintendo in the event of a breach or default by the Registrant, if the Registrant becomes insolvent, files a petition for bankruptcy, is bankrupt (voluntary or involuntary) or otherwise ceases to do business, if Registrant materially breaches any other agreement with Nintendo with respect to game systems, or if the Registrant assigns the Agreement without Nintendo's reasonable prior written consent. Upon termination of the Agreement for other than the Registrant's breach or default, the Registrant has a limited period of time to sell any existing product inventory remaining as of the date of termination. The length of this sell-off period is 180 days. The Registrant must destroy any such inventory remaining after the end of the sell-off period. Upon termination as a result of the Registrant's breach or default, the Registrant must immediately cease marketing and distribution of the games and destroy any remaining inventory.

onlinefähiges Puzzlespiel im März

Nintendo of America hat heute überraschend den Titel Tetris DS für den Nintendo DS angekündigt. Das Spiel, welches die Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection unterstützt, wird bereits am 20. März in den USA erscheinen.

Das Kultspiel vom Ur-Game Boy wird in der DS-Version über sechs Spielmodi verfügen, die jeweils im Design klassischer Nintendospiele gehalten sind. So gibt es ein Wiedersehen mit Super Mario Bros., The Legend of Zelda oder Metroid in Tetrisform. Der traditionelle Spielmodus, bei dem die Blöcke von oben herabfallen, bleibt natürlich erhalten, bekommt aber durch den Touchscreen ein neues Element.

In einigen Modi muss der Spieler spezielle Tetrispuzzle lösen, ähnlich wie in Tetris 2. Zusätzlich gibt es Spielmodi von 2-10 Spieler im lokalen Multiplayer, sogar wenn nur eine Gamecard vorhanden ist. Über die Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection können online 2-4 Spieler gegeneinander antreten. Man kann sich sogar mit Spielern über die Highscorelisten vergleichen.

Ich wollte erst sagen "wer braucht das"?
Aber Multiplayer und ein Puzzlemodus hören sich interessant an, ich hoffe der Preis wird auch interessant ausfallen.

Ansonsten hätte ich mir irgendwann Tetris für den GBA billig nachgekauft.

Also eigentlich dachte ich auch zuerst... Hmm naja, Tetris Ds. Aber wenn man sichs genau überlegt, wäre ein richtig geiles neues Tetris von Nintendo selbst echt super. Dann noch online, mit Touchscreen funktion (Steine selber malen? Als "Spezialattacke" oder so) und die Nintendocharaktere... Dann solls schon bald rauskommen... Yeah.

Das wandert auf meiner Most-Wanted-Liste von Null nach ziemlich weit oben!
 
Hat Nintendo denn die Tetrisrechte zurück? Soweit ich weis besitzt die doch zurzeit THQ, die die Tetris-Serie mit Tetris Worlds ja fast gekillt haben.
 
THQ hat sie anscheinend noch immer.

Dieses Tetris wurde vor einem Jahr angekündigt (ALTER PACKSHOT!). Wahrscheinlich hat Nintendo THQ überredet, es nicht zu veröffentlichen um die Nintendocharaktere und WiFi einzubauen.

Tetris ist mein absolutes Hass-Game.
Zum Glück gibts auf dem Ds auch noch andere Spiele. :blushed:
 
Tetris DS PAL Termin

10.01.06 - Nintendo gibt bekannt, dass Tetris DS am 20.02.06 in Europa erscheinen wird. Drahtlose Duelle sind mit nur einem einzigen Modul mit bis zu 10 NDS-Besitzern möglich. Über die 'Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection' spielen 2 oder 4 Spieler gegeneinander.

Yeah wie geil. Wird noch besser verkauft wenn Nintendo Charas dabei sind. Wi-Fi Connection juhu :D
 
OMG, der März wird der DS-Monat. Schon 6 games die ich mir holen möchte (aufgrund des geldes werdens nicht so viele werden^^)
 
Coool Tetris. Das wird der Hammer.
Vor allem die Features hören sich klasse an.

Wenn ja, wie lange den noch? (also bis wann haben sie die exklusiv-rechte mein ich^^)
