Shin Megami Tensei IV: Final ‘Tokyo Collapse’ animation

Atlus has released a new, one and a half-minute animation for Shin Megami Tensei IV: Final showcasing the collapse of Tokyo in the year 203X.

Here’s the game’s official story synopsis:

The year 203X. The gods’ war devastated and transformed near-future Tokyo into a demon capital. As the battle between Lucifer and Merkabahentered its final phase, the demon Krishna appeared. Spearheading the “Polytheistic Gods Alliance,” Krishna declared war on Lucifer, Merkabah, and the monotheistic gods. Mankind gets embroiled in a terrible new war. When a young boy is made a “god killer” by the power of the demon Daguza, what path will he choose?

Shin Megami Tensei IV: Final is due out for 3DS in Japan on February 10, 2016 for 6,480 yen.

Shin Megami Tensei IV: Final adds new Ashura-kai, Ring of Gaia, and Samurai characters

The latest issue of Famitsu reveals three new characters from the three organizations of Shin Megami Tensei IV set to join Shin Megami Tensei IV: Final as partner characters.

From Tokyo’s “Ashura-kai,” there’s Hallelujah. From Tokyo’s “Ring of Gaia,” there’s Toki. And from the Eastern Kingdom of Mikado’s “Samurai,” there’s Gaston.

Here they are alongside the game’s other partner characters (from left to right: Navarre, Nozomi, Gaston, Asahi, Halelujah, Toki, and Isabeau):

Shin Megami Tensei IV Final: second trailer

Today, Atlus decided to offer a pretty nice Christmas present to all Shin Megami Tensei fans around the world… a brand new trailer for Shin Megami Tensei IV Final! It starts by showing part of the Image Anime shown a couple of days ago during the second livestream for the game (the uncensored version is on our YouTube channel!). We also get to see some bits of story cutscenes, but nothing really new.

Then, the trailer introduces some of the main characters, and starts showing some gameplay footage proper. We get to see dungeon exploration, but also a battle against a giant boss (in 3D). There’s also regular battles, with a battle system pretty much identical to the original: you have to take advantage of enemy weaknesses in order to gain the upper hand.

Of course, demon negotiations are back, and they have actually been improved in this game. You can also fuse your demonic allies, which is pretty much required in order to get the best demons possible. In total, there’s over 450 demons in the game!

Finally, the trailer introduces some of the Partner characters, who help you during battles:

Shin Megami Tensei IV: Zwei Werbefilme aus Japan

Atlus hat in Japan zwei neue Werbefilme zu Shin Megami Tensei IV: Final veröffentlicht. Die Clips sind leider nur sehr kurz, jedoch zeigen sie weitere Eindrücke aus dem Rollenspiel, wie animierte Videoszenen und verschiedene Dämonen.

Es handelt sich nicht, so wie es der Titel vielleicht suggeriert, um eine leicht erweiterte Form von Shin Megami Tensei IV, sondern um ein komplett neues Spiel, das im gleichen Universum spielt.

Als Basis für das Spielsystem dienen die Mechaniken aus dem Vorgänger, wobei die Entwickler die Fusion der Dämonen und das Interface überarbeiten. Zudem wird das Gleichgewicht des Spiels reguliert. In Japan erscheint das Videospiel am 10. Februar für Nintendo 3DS.

Das heutige Video zu Shin Megami Tensei IV: Final stellt euch Krishna vor. Im Spiel stört Krishna den Krieg, der zwischen Gott und Lucifer ausgetragen wird. Er ist der Anführer der Gruppe „Polytheistic Alliance“, die versucht einen Krieg zwischen Monotheismus, Polytheismus und einer dritten Einheit auszulösen.

Krishna will jeden manipulieren, um seine Ziele zu erreichen, doch aktuell ist er in einer Arche in Tokyo versiegelt. Nun hofft er auf seine Befreiung. In Japan erscheint der Titel am 10. Februar für Nintendo 3DS.

With Shin Megami Tensei IV: Final due out this Wednesday, February 10 in Japan, 4Gamer.net has gone up with 11 minutes of direct-feed gameplay footage from the retail version of the game.

The followup to Shin Megami Tensei IV is set in the year 203X, where the gods’ war devastated and transformed Tokyo into a demon capital. As the battle between Lucifer and Merkabah entered its final phase, the demon Krishna appeared. Spearheading the “Polytheistic Gods Alliance,” Krishna declared war on Lucifer, Merkabah, and the monotheistic gods. And mankind gets embroiled in a terrible new war. The protagonist is a young man made a “god killer” by the power of the demon Daguza.

Vielleicht wird ja auf der heutigen Direct was dazu gesagt (nope )

Ach, es wird kommen, Teil 4 hat sich doch anscheinend gelohnt.

Das Artbook ist recht gut, vorallem die Infos die man alleine bei den Location-Artworks bekommt. Eigentlich wäre SMT4 noch brutaler gewesen und hätte von CERO definitiv eine 18+ Einstufung bekommen, da die aber unbedingt CERO 15 haben wollten, musste Content nachträglich rausgeschrieben/geschnitten werden.


Hm, jetzt hab ich erst recht wieder Lust auf SMT4..
