Gott sei Dank!

Tatsächlich? :-?

Mal was vom OMN Redakteur:
Unbelievable. I'm amazed that Nintendo has managed to keep codename Revolution a secret for so long with leaks like this, however I guess once this stufff is given to the press, even under NDA, it won't stay a secret for long. You can be sure that a few heads will roll, either at GI or Ubi, and there will be some VERY heated discussions at NCL.

The rest of the world has kept its mouth shut so I don't see why one idiot should ruin the surprise so early on.

____________

Yeah, it was set up for the 20th, and I'm pretty sure it was set up so subs copies would go out no sooner this month. Still, it's out now. Would have been nice to hold it off for that extra 10 days in my opinion.

_____________

Anyway, I guess the ball is rolling now. And yes, we will be seeing more stuff, in an official capacity, before E3, for precisely the reasons that were stated earlier in the thread.

Here's a summary of PRINCE_NineOne1's comments from the IGN boards.

He works for Ubisoft, as stated on his VIP status in IGN, he's from focus testing:

Quote:
you guys don't know what I do? You've never seen me on the IGN boards before? I'm exactly what my title says - a suggestion sponge. I help conduct focus groups, listen to gamers, and work with the development team to make sure everything is in line with what is expected of this game. Trust me - not as easy as it sounds. That's the TOP-DOWN look.

lots of other stuff, too.

Well - I'm gunna go out now.

I'll see you guys next week.

Quote:
RED STEEL.

Interesting concept if you think about it. There's not such thing, but in a figurative way -I guess it does make sense.

-P911
He then says the Red Steel name comes from a blood covered sword (Pootan's icon contains a sword dripping with blood):

Quote:
Pootan's icon = TEH RED STEEL
Quote:
You guys should support Game Informer and go out and get this issue. The editorial job is tremendous and they worked hard to break this story for Nintendo Fans such as yourself.

Ubi_Prince & myself will comment on public knowledge once you guys get the magazine - but until then, support your local newstand and GI.

In the meantime - anyone care to speculate how this game will work? I'm interested to hear.

-P911
Commenting on the leaked scans:

Quote:
That was not concept art.

-p911
On swordplay:

Quote:
Get the mag - the sword part is the shiz!

My personal favorite - and it will be yours - I assure you.

-P911
On the game not being an on rails shooter:

Quote:
OK - maybe I will comment on 1 thing because it so absurd for a next-gen game.

This game is not a rail shooter - that would be 100% NES and not Next-Gen.

-P911
Will the game have online multiplayer:

Quote:
Do you want it?

-P911
He then started a thread 'Couldn't be happier to hear your excitement - Thank You!':

Quote:
Well guys, I'll be honest...I wasn't sure how people would react to a new game that was not 1st party or an existing brand.

I want to thank you for keeping an open-mind and supporting 3rd Party Developers like Ubisoft.

We have truly studied this innovative console and I promise that we'll do our best to deliver the ultimate experience at launch and, as always, we keep our ears open to what gamers want - so keep your voices heard...we are listening.

Thanks again!

-P911

p.s.
We'll be back in a few months to ask you guys what you want for a pre-order item. Why? Cuz that's how we do.
Quote:
Once the magazine comes out - I will elaborate more. I wish I could talk right now but I'm in a bit of a "silent mode" - you know? You guys weren't supposed to see this magazine until next week!

I want to tell you all my thoughts on the power of the system, what I thought of the controls, etc.

And I will...at the approriate time. (ie. Next Week)

For now, I will say - NINTENDOMEGATON!

"not to assign any personality to the main character. You are the hero in Red Steel and this is your adventure. You quickly learn that her father is a Yakuza boss named Sato, who is in possesion of an important ceremonial katana. A younger, more ruthless Yakuza faction led by a man called Tokal attempted to steal the sword from Sato to shift the balance of power within the organization. Sato thwarted the attempt to steal the sword, but was mortally wounded in the attack. Tokal's men kidnap Myu in response, hoping to trade her life for the sword. But Sato refuses to hand over the sword to Toakl, instead giving it to you, with the instructions to use it to find his daughter. The enemies he commands will surrender their guns and the boss may offer you a new weapon, a special path through the level, or other reward. Any time you spare an enemy, you will be rewarded. as it always takes more skill to spare a life than to take it. After all, why would you carry a sword through a game if you couldn't use it? Although the majority of Red Steel's gameplay will stress ranged combat, there will be times you need to get up close and personal. You can switch to the sword at any time, and if you can get close enougn to an enemy, you can use it for on-hit stealth kills. In other moments, you'll find yourself locked into intense one-on-one sword duels. Any time you take on an enemy with a sword of his own, you'll need to take yours out right away, or his blade will make short work of you. Hmmm, ist das Spiel schon offiziell? Ich meine, woher stammen die Scans? Hat Ubi Soft dazu was gesagt?

Man denke an manche Pflanzen!
