“Speed of Spread of PS4 is Quite Encouraging;” Sony to Shift Resources to Games; PS4 “Truly Sony”
During the earnings call for investors and analysts related to the third quarter of the fiscal year, Sony President and CEO Kazuo Hirai and Chief Finantcial Officer Masaru Kato gave some news that are quite encouraging for PlayStation fans.

Given the increasing challenges of the electronics business environment we now anticipate the target of returning the PC and TV businesses to profitability to be difficult to achieve this fiscal year.

Given these circumstances we have decided to implement further significant steps to accelerate the growth and future revitalization of our electronics business, which are the following two reform measures.

First we’ll continue continue to shift resources to our three core businesses, Imaging, Games and Mobile and our growth businesses.

They continued by explaining that the PC and TV businesses will be radically reformed and the headquarters and sales divisions will be optimized. They also reiterated the number of 150 million PSN members, and mentioned rapidly increasing PlayStation Plus subscribers.

The explanation moved to the new console, mentioning that the”Speed of spread of PS4 is quite encouraging.” The game division is expected to exceed expectations at the end of the fiscal year and its momentum is predicted to continue next year, contributing to profitability.

It was mentioned that the game division has been identified as a core business together with imaging and mobile, and PS4 has been identified as “truly Sony” as a product. After selling 4.2 million in 2013 “further robust growth and its firm establishment as a next generation platform” are expected.

PS4: Sony Increases 5 Million Sales Forecast But Won’t Say by How Much; Plans to Boost Marketing

During the earnings call for investors and analysts related to the third quarter of the fiscal year, Sony President and CEO Kazuo Hirai answered a question on whether the sales forecast for the PS4 before the end of March had increased from the former 5 million estimate announced by Andrew House at Tokyo Game Show. Incidentally the predictable question was asked by ACE Securities analyst Hideki Yasuda, with whom we’re quite familiar already.

Hirai mentioned that previously the combined forecast of sales between PS4 and PS4 was of 15 million units for the current fiscal year, with the PS4 selling five million of them. The combined forecast remains unchanged now, but the PS3 is selling less than predicted, implying that the forecast for the PS4 has been increased. Unfortunately Hirai declined to give a detailed breakdown.

Yasuda-san also asked if Sony could afford lowering its marketing budget for the PS4, since the console is doing so well, but Hirai-san mentioned that the marketing spend for the console won’t be cut despite the fact that it’s doing better than expected. He added that as a matter of fact it’s the right time to increase it in order to accelerate growth.
He finally explained that detailed plans for increasing sales of the three core electronics businesses (games, imaging and mobile) will be be discussed at a corporate strategy briefing after the announcement of the full year results in May.

PS4 leads 64% boost for gaming devision
The games division saw a 64.6 percent boost in sales over last year, thanks to the PlayStation 4's strong launch and a weakened yen. Sony's mobile products and communications division, which included PCs until now, saw revenue increase 44.8 percent year-on-year powered by a "significant increase in unit sales of smartphones." The home entertainment and sound division saw a 24.8 percent lift in revenue on improved LCD TV sales; Sony is now splitting off its TV business as a subsidiary and will concentrate on high-end and 4K models.

Habe schon oft von gelesen, aber ich selbst habe noch keine Probleme gehabt. Meine PS4 steht jetzt seit über einer Woche bei mir und bisher hatte ich trotz Dauernutzung noch keine Abstürze oder sonstige Probleme. Sicherheitshalber kopiere ich aber nach jeder Sitzung meine Spielstände, damit ich immer Ersatz habe. Mein Controller ist übrigens auch noch wie neu. Hoffentlich bleibt das alles so. :)
 
War heute im Saturn und beide Anspieldualshocks 4 waren im Arsch. Bei beiden war die Gummierung des linken Sticks im Arsch. Weiß nicht was Sony sich dabei gedacht hat.
 
die qualität bei den controllern scheint echt gewaltig zu schwanken.
ein kumpel musste heute seinen 3. (!!!) umtauschen. bei den ersten beiden ging das gummi ab und beim dritten ging die l1 taste nicht mehr.
mit meinen 2 controllern hab ich zum glück keinerlei probleme

Spielt er FIFA oder andere Spiele bei den man die Sticks schnell und hektisch bewegen muss?
 
Das Gold Headset ist bei Videogamesplus.ca auf Lager. Kostet mit Versandkosten 76 Euro. Wenns nicht beim Zoll hängen bleiben würde wärs nen Schnäppchen.
