An update to the official One Piece Super Grand Battle X website revealed new information on the game’s battle system that is scheduled to release in Japan on November 13, 2014(no news as of yet for overseas releases).
Battle Modes for the game are the following:
Point Battle: The player with the most points wins, after the given time runs out.
Survival Battle: A battle that continues until the opponent’s life reaches 0.
Berî Battle: The players will need another strategy from regular battle, where the aim is to collect as many berries as possible in the allotted time.
The so-called “Alliance Moves” will give the possibility for players to perform a, with the secondary character of their liking:
Character Swap Attack: A well-timed character change to perform an attack on your opponent.
Dodge Attack
Double Consecutive Attack: Consecutively hit the character swap button to continuously perform a powerful consecutive attack with your partner
On the Attacks front we have:
Special Attacks: Use special points to perform a fancy special attack! Special attacks change depending on the character you use so use them according to your battle plan!!
Combo Attacks A very powerful attack done using 2 characters. Depending on the combination of the two characters you use, you can also perform UNIQUE combo attacks! Dish out super-strong moves with character combos going from the familiar duo to your dream team! (A Combination attack for THOSE 3 brothers is also possible!)
Lastly as was suspected beforehand, the game will also give players the possibility of doing other actions using certain items etc.
Rideable objects: You can use certain objects to ride on, and you can even attack your opponent while riding it! (the site shows Moocy and the Bracchio Tank as two examples)
Weapons – Items Depending on the item you use you can obtain different bonus effects, these also include some powerful weapons you can attack with. (the site shows chests, meat and even Franky’s robot arm)
Furthermore, based on the additional screenshots added to the website, it appears that characters such as Koala and THAT person will also be playable characters, as well as Kin’emon, Mach Vise (making all the Donquixote family members available) and based on the last image shown in this post, maybe even Gol D. Roger, however, considering he is only shown in the background this is still unconfirmed as of yet.
The game will also give players the possibility of playing with other players using the internet and the local area network on one’s 3DS.
“One Piece: Super Grand Battle! X” will be available for purchase starting Nov. 13 in Japan and costs ¥5,690.
