Welcome to the June 09, 2005 edition of the N-Next mailbag. In this edition we cover Camelot, New Super Mario Bros., and plenty more. In this edition of the mailbag, Cameron Jutte and Ryley Nicklin exchange turns answering the many questions.




bobmarley: Is super mario bros ds just a semi-2d version of mario 64 ds? It sure looks like it.

Ryley: It does seem that way, but we can safely tell you that it is not. It does feature a lot of the moves in Super Mario 64, but the levels and gameplay are very different and should make for a great game.




OMEGA META RYLEY: does the DS have better graphics than the N64

Ryley: In my opinion, neither is superior or inferior, just different. The Nintendo 64 is "technically" better, as the Nintendo DS has no texture filtering or anti-aliasing. The DS, however, does have the ability to display more colors and is run on a smaller resolution. In the end, it's all up the effort the developer puts into the game.

Stanley: Do you think that Camelot (or whoever makes the Golden Sun games) will make a golden sun 3 for the DS? It would be awesome to have a great RPG for the system.

Ryley: Our friends over at Camelot have been rather quiet of late, but they've been hinting at a big announcement soon. We can't comfirm this to be for the Nintendo DS, but stay tuned anyway.




Serge: Just want to know... what is Camelot's relationship with Nintendo? Are they second party or what? Thanks for your time!

Cameron: How odd, two Camelot questions in one mailbag. To answer your question, Camelot is a second party of Nintendo, and Nintendo is pretty lucky to have talented developers like Camelot. If you haven't played them already, I recommend you go pick up Golden Sun for the Game Boy Advance.




Chiro: I love this site, the new layout, the features, EVERYTHING! Do you know when the ACDS and MKDS mini-sites will come up?

Ryley: The Mario Kart DS and Animal Crossing DS mini-sites will be online by the end of July. Oh and, very sorry about banning you on the forums. We've straightened it out and you have been unbanned. Horrah? Please don't kill me.




DrizzT: Hi N-Next staff! I'm a big fan of RPGs, mainly on my PS2 because it has a lot to choose from. What Nintendo/multi platform RPG's are coming up in the near future? What ones look the best? Any system will work. Thanks in advance!

Ryley: For the Nintendo DS, I recommend picking up Lunar: Dragon Song when it releases this September (In the US). I think gamers will be pleasantly surprised by this game.

Eigentlich sind sie 3rd Party, denn sie wurden ja nie von Nintendo gekauft (soweit ich weiß).

Stimmt wohl. Das Spiel hat es aber vollkommen verdient.

Also ich hab beide und gut Bomberman ist bei weitem kein schlechtes Spiel, aber besser als AC?
Niemals, ok den Multiplayer konnte ich noch nicht antesten..

Kenn den DS teil nicht, aber dafür andere Bombermanspiele, die sich eigentlich nie gelohnt haben, wenn man nur den Songleplayer spielen kann

Official Nintendo Accessory for Non-Wireless Internet

I have been contacting Nintendo about the wireless internet for the DS.
They have an accessory for people who have a modem that is not wireless.
This accessory basically plugs into your USB. 2.0 connection, uses your PC's internet and acts as a wireless hub for all DS's in the perimeter.

I apologize for the confusion. If you have a Nintendo DS, then you do have wireless. Nintendo has announced plans to make a PC-compatible wireless network adapter to work with the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection (the wireless network for DS and Revolution). It will use a USB 2.0 connection.
While we don't have any details yet, basically, instead of an accessory that will let you go non-wireless, this accessory will make your current internet connection compatible with Wi-Fi.
We are really looking forward to the online capabilities of the system! Although we don't have any details yet, we have been assured that it will be very easy and affordable!

But there's one problem with that, you have to have the computer on. It would be so much easier if it just plugs into one of your ethernet ports on your router.

Also wie ich schon erwähnt habe, find ich Bomberman im Singleplayer zwar unterhaltsam, doch nicht wirklich DER Bringer. Eine persönliche Wertung rund um 70%. Im Multi siehts jedoch ganz anders aus. 90% liegen da sogar drinn. Wir haben gestern die Nacht durchgemacht und 6h lang nur Bomberman DS gezockt. Und das willl schon was heissen...
