Das stimmt ja so eben nicht. Jeder der das HDDVD-Laufwerk für die Xbox360 holt, holt es sich, um damit HDDVDs zu schauen (klar, sonst würde man es sich ja nicht holen). Aber jeder, der sich eine PS3 holt, holt sie sich, um hauptsächlich damit zu spielen. Will sagen, nicht jeder, der sich eine PS3 holt, wird sich automatisch BluRay-Filme holen.

Irgendwie ist das imo nur nen 360 vs. Ps3 Thread. Die Sonys sagen, Bluray ist die Zukunft. Die Xbox-fans HD-DVD.

Sony Korea has been released BR format from this year, and (according Sony's schedule), over 100 BR DVD will be released until next Summer. But all scheduled BR DVD is imported item (from Sony US) and its contents is, of course, US movies...

And regarding HD, there is no officially released HD DVD in Korea. We can find some HD DVD in market - but all HD DVDs are imported from US. I heard that Korean HD DVDs will be released from next year - but the contents will be US movies.. (HD DVDs will be also imported from US. Simply Korean publishers do not have printing machinery of HD or BR in Korea.)

It is not easy to say who will be the winner of next format. Everyone can say that winner takes all - and it make harder competition in the market. Until now, in Korea, BR is winner - because there is no HD DVD released in Korea...

But many Korean consumer elec. companies i.e. Samsung or LG has started to make HD DVD compatible Notebook computer, HD DVD rom and players - and when HD DVD is released in next year, market situation can be changed dramatically. As you may be aware Microsoft will add HD DVD in their Next Window OS, and Samsung (they made 1st BR players..) has been joined HD format (DVD6C) under the name of Samsung, not under TSST... It is very important in Korea which format will be added in computer and samsung's choice (they are biggest company in Korea) So I think HD DVD will be winner in Korea - But nobody knows who will be th ereal winner

But the contents problem will be not easily solved. There is 3 BIG DVD publishing companies in Korea. Warner, Fox-Bitwin and Tae Won (spectrum) DVD. According to their choice, Korean movies will be released in BR or HD format. And I heard that they do NOT have a plan to release next format K-movie DVD in next year... So it seems that you have to wait till 2008 to see K-movie BR or HD DVD...


And in Korea, most people are willing to wait next year to buy BR or HD player. Samsung's BR player is tooooooo expensive (I have this one.... it was U$1,200.- ........) but Panasonic and Sony's new player will be sold cheaper price from this month, and LG, Samsung will make cheaper player from next year... If you have a plan to buy BR or HD player - please wait.... In BR/HD player market, early bird has to pay much money and much trouble with BUG

Ist ja auch klar.
Was steckt wohl in nem HD-Laufwerk? Genau, eine blaue Laserdiode. Und seit Sony wissen wir ja dass die noch seltener hier zu finden sind als hochkarätige Diamanten

Es wäre ja der Hohn schlechthin wenn MS mehr HD Laufwerke herstellen könnte als Sony PS3, da denen ja eine der zwei Diodenfrabriken sogar gehört.

Nee, die Nintendos sind auch noch auf der HD-DVD Seite. Man wird doch nicht zugeben dürfen das Sony etwas richtig macht. Oder gar das man was von Sony gut findet.

Was wurde denn bei Blu Ray gut gemacht? Ist rundum schlechter als HD DVD und teuer noch dazu. Bietet nur einen besseren Kopierschutz und mehr Speicherplatz. Dabei bieten die ersten Filme dieser neuen Generation nichtmal specials. Also von daher sinnlos.

Da will wohl jemand nicht verkraften das Blu Ray ein Schuss in den Ofen ist.

Okay... now for a bit of high-def news. I said on Friday that you can expect some major title announcements at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in January. Well, I wasn't kidding and we've got a bit of follow-up for you.

I've just spoken today with Eric Maehara, VP of Communications for Buena Vista Home Entertainment(EDIT:aka, Disney). He informed me that the studio is planning to announce a MAJOR Blu-ray Disc release line-up for the first half of 2007 at CES. In addition, he reiterated to me in no uncertain terms that BVHE has no plans to support HD-DVD, despite persistent online rumors to the contrary.

I've also spoken this afternoon with Steve Feldstein, Senior VP of Corporate and Marketing Communications for 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment. He likewise confirmed that Fox has no plans to support HD-DVD, and that the studio will also be announcing additional Blu-ray Disc titles at CES.
Paramount's Senior VP for Worldwide DVD Production, Jeff Radoycis, has informed me that the studio is currently focusing on new release titles, but is also busy evaluating a number of major catalog titles for their readiness to be released on HD-DVD and Blu-ray Disc in the year ahead. The studio definitely expects to continue supporting both high-def formats equally in 2007.

And on Friday afternoon I spoke with a press representative of New Line Home Entertainment regarding their future high-def releases. The latest official word is that the studio is currently still evaluating their plans as far as which format(s) they might support and what titles they might want to release. For now, don't expect anything from them on either format until probably mid-2007.

We've got follow-up inquiries in to Warner, Universal and Sony with regard to their forthcoming high-def announcement plans, in particular whether they plan any major announcements at CES or not. We'll post the details of their responses as soon as they come in.

Die werdens schon merken, wenn sie weniger Gewinn machen, als diese Studios, die HDDVD unterstützen.
