Xbox 360 problems delay GTA IV. Microsoft bans Playstation 3 release.

Problems with development of GTA IV on the Xbox 360 has meant the game has been delayed until April 2008.


GTA IV was due for release on 17th October. Rockstar have been using the Playstation 3 as the lead platform. An Xbox 360 team have been working besides the core team adapting code. Whilst the PS3 Blu-ray disc will easily accommodate the game, there have been problems fitting the game on to a single 360 DVD disc. Microsoft will not allow the game to be released on 2 disc as they are concerned the 360 will be compared unfavourably to the PS3. The situation has led to tension between Dan Houser and the Microsoft Empire as there is currently no way the game can fit on a single dvd.
Microsoft are currently working on a new compression technology for DVD9 discs, however this wont be available until next year. In a politically worded statement Sam Houser said "The game is huge and is pushing the hardware platforms to their absolute limits. The top engineers from Sony and Microsoft are working closely with the team in Edinburgh right now, helping us to fully leverage the power of both platforms."

Whilst the PlayStation 3 version is all set for completion at the end of this month, Microsoft have tied Take Two into an iron-clad legal agreement that forbids them from releasing the game on any format unless the Xbox 360 is ready. This has meant that whilst the PS3 version will be ready for October, Microsoft have directly prevented its release. That's what happens when the Houser brothers sell their arse for the Microsoft dollar. Stupid limey gimp-bags.

Ich hab mir mal die Mühe gemacht und mir die anderen "News" auf UK Rebellion angeschaut. Ziemlich glaubhaft die Seite. Also wann können wir mit dem passenden CW-Newsbeitrag rechnen? *schonmaldasbierkaltstellengeh*
 
die xbox 360 ist die leadplatform, die seite ist genauso ein witz wie die der sony protection group ...

und wer hats mal wieder gepostet ... :rolleyes:
 
In mehreren Preview Fassungen wurde erwähnt dass das Spiel auf der 360 vorgeführt wurde

Genau so sieht es aus.
Aber die Verschwörungsgrillboyfraktion muss sich ja immer wieder was neues ausdenken, wenns mit ihrem Monolithen nicht so läuft 8-)

Abgesehen davon hat es bisher noch keinen Publisher geschert, eine Version einfach zu verschieben, wenn's nicht so läuft. Also hätte die PS3 Version ohne Probleme ja pünktlich erscheinen können. MS ist ja schließlich nicht der Publisher und hat Rockstar somit nix zu sagen.

Dass das Game einfach noch nicht den erwarteten Standard, jenseits der Grafik, erreicht hat, wird wohl geflissentlich übersehen :)

wegen der möchtegern next-gen konsole müssen wir jetzt auf GTA4 warten :mad:
 
Wurde desweiteren nicht vor kurzem gesagt, das die PS3 Version 3 Wochen hinterhinkt? Also für eine Lead-Version ja ziemlich peinlich... :lol:

Ich möchte wenigsten die PS3 Version noch dieses Jahr! Das darf doch wohl nicht war sein. Naja die Hoffnung stirbt zuletzt :-)
Sollte sich das bewahrheiten macht sich Microsoft damit sicherlich keine Freunde.
 
Weder die PS3 noch die 360 sind Schuld daran, dass das Game erst nächstes Jahr erscheint. Mehrere Previews haben bewiesen wie unfertig das Spiel noch wirkte, Rockstar hat sich einfach überschätzt und jetzt nimmt man sich halt die Zeit die man braucht.

Das trifft wohl schon eher zu.

1. 360 ist Leadplattform
2. Bisher wurde nur die 360ger Fassung gezeigt.
3. Wäre nicht das erste Game, was für den Grill verschoben würde.
4. Sony hängt noch sehr stark an Rockstar und macht mit denen ja schon wieder einen Deal für ein neues Exclusivgame.
