Beta Character Creation

The Dragon Ball Xenoverse beta is now available for players to enjoy. In the final version of the game, player will be able to select from a variety of races, but in the Dragon Ball Xenoverse beta test, players have the option to select between an earthling (male or female) and Namekian. Only 1 character can be created (althogh in the final version it looks like up to 8) and their hair, eyes, facial structure, and clothing can be changed. From what we’re told, the beta is currently freezing and Dimps is working on making the appropriate fixes.

Dragon Ball Xenoverse: GT Characters, Broly, Beerus Playable (Rumor)

Fans, Dragon Ball GT is making a come back in Dragon Ball Xenoverse! There are two parts to this story, the confirmed comeback and the rumored comeback.

What’s Confirmed

We’ll start with what’s officially confirmed. As you may already know, Dragon Ball Xenoverse will allow players to create their own character, dressing them with the clothing (among other things like accessories, hair style, shoes, and attacks) of their choice. In the latest trailer for Xenoverse, you can clearly see at the 2:35 mark that players can equip Goku’s blue Dragon Ball GT outfit. Pausing at the frame, you’ll even notice the letters “GT”.

What is Rumor

Now, for what is rumored. Take this with a grain of salt as Dragon Ball Xenoverse is still under development and this has not been officially confirmed.

This past weekend select fans were able to enjoy the Japanese beta for the game. The intelligence of the community was at work through our pal SergioM3, who had access to the beta and reviewed the data hidden within it. There, to what may be the delight of many Dragon Ball fans, is hidden information on Dragon Ball GT characters Nuova Shenron, Eis Shenron, and Omega Shenron along with Dragon Ball Z Battle of Gods character, Beerus! Take a look at other characters he found in the list below. The video lists some of their ultimate attacks.

It’s worth repeating the inclusion of Dragon Ball GT characters should be taken as RUMOR.. Although it seems likely they will be in, Dragon Ball Xenoverse is still under development and while there may have been plans by developer Dimps to include them, there is always the possibility they may not be included. We have to wait for the official word by Bandai Namco. Another thing, we can say with confidence the list below is not the final cast of characters. Vegito, for example who is in the above trailer, is not mentioned within the video below.

Goku
Gohan
Piccolo
Krillen
Yamcha
Tien
Chiaotzu
Nappa
Vegeta
Guldo
Recoome
Burter
Jeice
Captian Ginyu
Frieza
Future Trunks

Broly
Majin Buu
Super Buu

Kid, God Goku, SS4 Gogeta (RUMOR)

Just like the last round, the latest Dragon Ball Xenoverse rumors will surely raise the eyebrows of excited fans. Before getting too excited, however, let us first point out this is rumor and speculation. Developer Dimps is still working on the game and Bandai Namco Games has not yet given any official word on this so please do not take this as confirmation. Again, just rumor and speculation, these characters may not be in.

Anyways, as the title says, Kid Goku from Dragon Ball, Super Saiyan 4 (SS4) Gogeta from Dragon Ball GT, and Super Saiyan God Goku from Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods are all rumored to be in Dragon Ball Xenoverse. The rumor originates from our friend SergioM3 who had a chance to look into the hidden data of the game’s beta, which took place last weekend. In the data, he found special attacks for characters to which he speculates may be of the three aforementioned characters. You can take a look at his video below.

Dragon Ball Xenoverse Offline Local 2-Player Gameplay, Majin Action

We’ve been posting many videos of online gameplay lately from Dragon Ball Xenoverse’s exciting Japanese and English network test, where players can engage in 1-vs-1, 2-vs-2, and 3-vs-3 battles with friends, rivals, and complete strangers. The previous game in the series, Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Z, was either an offline single player campaign or an online multiplayer battle, so many have wondered if Xenoverse is following the same formula. To the delight of fans, the answer is no! There will be offline local 2-player vs matches, where two people in the same physical room can go at it against one another. Take a look at the footage below! The thumbnails might be a little confusing, so we’ve added text above each video to indicate what match-up each contains.

taugt mir nichts. Budokai Gameplay bzw Burst Limit
und ich hätte es mir geholt.

Scouter Tutorial, Network Test Skills Video

This past weekend the Dragon Ball Xenoverse network test took place and players from around the world gathered to partake in bouts of exciting Dragon Ball Z action. One of the interesting features in the test was the use of a scouter. It helped players learn about their opponents power level and skill set. Not only that, but it was an important tool in finding hidden items within a stage that could be equipped in future battles or sold at the shops for zeni. Not all of you may have had a chance to try it however, even if you took part in the network test. Check out a tutorial on the scouter and a quest mission with heavy scouter use!

We had posted a video from the Japanese network test back on September, but a new and improved version with the names and skill type (super, ultimate, or evasive) has been released. The first video shows all of the different skills that were in the network test, while the second is the old version the shows that some of the same attacks are equipped by different characters.

64 Playable Characters [RUMOR]

The Dragon Ball Xenoverse English network test took place this past weekend. Players around the world downloaded the network client from the PlayStation Store in order to engage themselves in this DBZ affair. While most players are recollecting their experiences and uploading videos/images of gameplay, our friend SergioM3 was off to work, peering into the data hidden within the client. He had previously uncovered a list of 27 from the Japanese network test, but his new findings from the English version uncover 64 potential playable characters!

We say potential because this list should be taken as a RUMOR. Developer Dimps is still working on the game so the final list below may be more or less. Also, we didn’t see Goten (who is confirmed) or Super Saiyan Gogeta, who would be odd not to include if the Super Saiyan 4 version is in. Saiyan Island has created a list of Dragon Ball Xenoverse Characters confirmed thus far so if you want to know who is 100% in, head on over there.

One thing we should point out is Bandai Namco has mentioned the game would have in-game transformations, and we’ve seen it in the network test through Goku’s Kaioken. Some of the characters in the video below have multiple forms that are portrayed to be separate characters (Frieza, for example). We aren’t sure if that means some characters will have transformations as separate slots or if it was just a way of ordering data by Dimps that mislead us into believing they are different characters. For those wondering who “Demigra” is, we honestly have no idea. It might be a new, exclusive game character, somebody from the new movie, or just an error in the data. Again, we don’t know. Lastly, there are four three letter symbols that SergioM3 was unable to decipher from the hidden data. For TOK our guess is Tokitoki, but for the other three we have no clue whatsoever.

We’ll say it one more time, take this list as RUMOR.

Goku
Super Saiyan 4 Goku
Kid Goku
Super Saiyan God Goku
Bardock
Kid Gohan
Teen Gohan
Ultimate Gohan
Piccolo
Krillin
Yamcha
Tien
Raditz

Dragon Ball Xenoverse Review (Network Test Version)

Dragon Ball Z video games are back and the Xenoverse network test was be a Dragon Ball Z experience like none other! The online hub and create a character features are the main draws and gave it life, in the truest sense of the word. Just roaming around finding people you may know and making teams to play together was exciting! As for battle gameplay, while not perfect, it had great positives that made fighting gratifying at times. Sans the maintenance, freezing, and load times, leveling up through parallel quests was the biggest negative that took time away from exchanging blows with friends. All in all, however, we felt the network test was far superior to the final versions of Battle of Z and Ultimate Tenkaichi and our hype for Dragon Ball Xenoverse is well over 9,000!

Goku and Vegeta Going Super Saiyan In-Game

In-game transformations were confirmed by Bandai Namco Games earlier this year. Now, we finally get to see the two marquee names taking their skills to the next level by going Super Saiyan! What’s interesting is Super Saiyan transformations are considered an ultimate attack. In other words, they occupy the L2+R2+Triangle slot. From what we at Saiyan Island saw, ki energy is slowly drained, but can be recovered through charging upon transformation, so technically the warriors can stay Super Saiyan for the entire match. This is considerably different from what we saw in the network test, where Goku’s Kaioken was a super attack that drained guard power and prevented ki energy from recharging. Kaioken is a different technique, so it is logical for there to be a difference. Then again, Dragon Ball Xenoverse is still under development, so as time goes by, what we see in these early builds might differ from the final product when it’s released in early 2015.

Dragon Ball Xenoverse: Theories with Merit, Stages, and More Rumors

Dragon Ball Xenoverse is making its way to retailers at an announced date in early 2015. Thousands of fans played the 27-hour network test over a week ago to help developer Dimps work out some of the issues in the game’s online play. While many have been recollecting their great experiences, SergioM3 has been hard at work taking a look into the hidden files of the game’s network test client. There he has found a a rumored list of playable characters, some rumored costumes and accessories, ultimate moves, and special attacks through textual data.

In his latest exploration into the world of hidden Xenoverse data, he finds players will be able to change the body type of characters through preset styles (like how hair styles were in the network test. For example the standard fat Majin male can be changed to a more muscular body type), there will be a training mode, a reputation system, and more. Take a look at the video below, it’s quite interesting! Before watching though, please remember to take this as a RUMOR. Some of the theories SergioM3 presents have merit based on the images he shows, but it should be noted developer Dimps is still working on Dragon Ball Xenoverse so what we see here based on hidden data in the network test client may not be what’s in the the retail release. Actually, even what we’ve seen as visible content from the network test may be vastly different from the final product. So take this all with a grain of salt and know it might all be different by the time you play Dragon Ball Xenoverse.

Also found were a list of 24 stages. Below are the 21 that could be deciphered based on theory and speculation. Again, please take this as rumor. We did note Kami’s Lookout was not mentioned in the list, even though it was a playable stage in the network test. It might be one of the stages with syntax that was indecipherable.

Plains
Rocky Area
Rocky Area at Night
Planet Namek
Planet Namek after Spirit Bomb Hit
