CV1/Vive vs GearVr:
https://www.reddit.com/r/GearVR/comments/4ad1il/can_someone_who_has_tried_an_oculus_cv1_or_htc/I own a GearVR and my company owns both the CV1/Vive (I'm the VP of Engineering).
The optics are way better on the Vive/CV1. It's the most jarring thing when going back to the GearVR. The peripherals never seem to be "focused" regardless of what I do on my Note5 or the S7 I've used.
On the Vive/CV1 there's no adjustment. I don't have to turn a wheel or do anything. I just put it on and it's 100% in focus the entire team. Almost non-existent screen-door effect when compared to the GearVR and of course no dust/lint on the glass.
Of the CV1/Vive, the Vive is HANDS DOWN my favorite. The room tracking + motion controller is next level. Google's painting program is the coolest thing I've ever used.
