Hier mal ein erster Bericht eines US Zockers der Resistance anspielen konnte. Ist ja im Moment in den US möglich!!
Before I start, I'd like to say that this was one of the best events I've been to in a long time. If you are in the area, I highly suggest that you go, because if you are on an internet forum, chances are you'll love the stuff they have there.
Now, for the impressions.
Unfortunately, the only game I was able to play was Resistance....not because that was the only game available to play, but because I had no interest in trying the other game out (NBA 07)....
When I first saw other people playing it as I approached the kiosk, I have to admit, I was disappointed. I kept denying to myself that the textures just look bad because they are on video. I kept telling myself that when I see it in person, it will be beautiful. I was wrong . These are textures that I can EASILY reach a high performance on my PC. The textures don't even seem next gen, to be honest with you. It just looks like a stripped down version of Call of Duty TWO! That's right....TWO. Not even the new one that's coming out.
As I was next in line, waiting for my friend to die, I noticed how shiny the console is. We've all seen pics, and honestly, it's just how it looks in those pics. I wasn't too amazed with seeing it in person as it looked no different, but the shinyness is really appealing. Unfortunately, I forgot all about the see through case to even notice it.
Now for the controller......IGN just released their own impressions of the console and the controller itself. I agree with everything they said. If they hadn't said it, I would have. The controller is too light. It truly does feel like you aren't holding anything, and that is EXTREMELY distracting believe it or not. The far shoulder buttons are terrible. Not only are they super sensitive (I kept hitting the R2 button slightly by mistake), but your fingers don't have to be moist for them to slip off easily. The entire setup, it just feels odd. I noticed that the main buttons (X,O, etc...) protruded more than they do on the PS2, which is a good thing. And I liked the feel of the analog sticks this time around. They were very sensitive, but in a good way. It took me some getting used to to the sensitivity in the beginning, but it was worth it.
So hier geht es weiter
Now that I'm done with the first impressions, let's get to the good part.
Although I claimed that I can render the textures on my PC easily, the effects and all the action on the other hand may be a problem. Despite the graphics being a disappointment, I was appalled at how AMAZING it feels. At first, the controls were a little clanky (I'm more of a PC FPS gamer now), but as soon as I got used to it, I couldn't get off! I was off and about kicking some serious alien ass! The effects were mindblowing. The FUNNESS factor that went into running into the turret bunkers and killing the aliens from the side, or crouching behind a fence and shooting between the planks to hit the enemy, everything was just fantastic! I mentioned how terrible it looked before I started playing it, but your mind gets off that IMMEDIATELY as soon as you get the feel of the controls and you begin to shoot aliens all around. I mean, you can't only run and gun and expect to win, these aliens are much smarter than most FPS games I've played thus far. Some of them were a little too scripted, and it seemed too easy at times, but I KNOW this was done for demo purposes. (For example, there's a trench in the first level where you have to go through. As you reach a right turn, you notice that there is an alien waiting with a turret there. You can either try shooting him with any gun you have (Even though it won't work since it has its own shield), or you can skip the right turn (where he's waiting for you), run straight into a tunnel that leads you around behind him. Obviously they thought that we gamers couldn't take him out on my own, (which is what I first did with a grenade, since I didn't want to go into the tunnel and not discover what was behind the gunner). After that turret gunner all the spider-like creatures came obout from above the trench. They just dropped in. A few shotgun shells and they were pretty much done. A few more aliens and the level was complete. I couldn't play any longer because nobody, throughout the entire day, had gotten that far, and by this time I had a HUGE line behind me. So the kind lady asked me if I wouldn't mind giving it up. It was actually really funny sine no one had gotten that far, the lady called the press to videotape me playing and got me an interview .I really wanted to play the next level "Evacuation" Which I believe Neo loved. I watched the next person play and he died almost instantly
The reason why I enjoyed it SO much was because this felt like a game we had all played before. Dare I say it? It felt alot like Halo....except with massively intelligent AI (more than what we're used to) and with an amazing weapon set at your disposal.
OMG, I forgot to talk about the weapons. At first, while watching people play, I told myself "Holy ish, that shotgun looks awesome! I'm going to use that!", but in the end I was having too much fun using all the other weapons, (INCLUDING the alien grenade, which is FANTASTIC BTW!) I absolutely love the guns. They fire extremely rapidly and the effects on the screen MORE than make up for the lack of rumble. I had forgotten about the rumble completely! I honestly am more psyched about this game than I was before. My favorite games combined together.....SET IN THE WWII ERA!!!!!
Any more questions, feel free to ask
I know it's a long read, but I really hope you read everything, even if you believe that this game will fail miserably.
PS. I'm going to go again on Sunday, because I want to play more PS3 and the fact that there was too big a line behind the Wii....so I gotta go again
Klingt doch alles sehr gut.
