Ich bin gespannt wie so die Reaktionen ausfallen. Was Toshiba zu dem Thema Warner zu sagen hat und ob Disney irgendwas auf der CES bekannt geben wird. Selbst wenn Disney vorgehabt haben sollte multi zu werden könnte es ja jetzt sein, dass sie sich das evtl. nochmal überlegen. :-D

ja und, dafür gabs in amerika zum hddvd lauferwerk neben den 6 filmen ne heros saeson 1 dazu, die alleine ist mehr wert, als das laufwerk.

Naja mal ehrlich, Blu-ray ist eindeutig auf der Gewinnerseite jetzt. Mag ja sein das Toshiba kämpft bis zum Schluss aber wie heißt es so schön? Der Kunde ist König. Und dieser hat sich schon vor einiger Zeit tendenziell eher an der Blu-ray orientiert und diese gekauft; natürlich hat die PS3 daran einen großen Anteil!

Ironischerweise war genau amazon.com auch meine Quelle, um mich über die Preise des BD-Markts ein wenig zu informieren. Und ja, das Durchgestrichene da ist der UVP, und der liegt Pi mal Daumen bei etwa 35$. Also kein Pappenstil für Sony, so einen Schubkarren an Filmen pro PS3 auf einmal zu subventionieren.

ich sage sogar immernoch, NOCH ist die hddvd nicht tot,
und mal sehen wieviele releases noch auf ihr kommen,
wenn keine filme mehr für die hddvd kommen, dann

As central members of the DVD Forum, we have long maintained a close partnership with Warner Bros. We worked closely together to help standardize the first-generation DVD format as well as to define and shape HD DVD as its next-generation successor.

We were particularly disappointed that this decision was made in spite of the significant momentum HD DVD has gained in the US market as well as other regions in 2007. HD DVD players and PCs have outsold Blu-ray in the US market in 2007.

We will assess the potential impact of this announcement with the other HD DVD partner companies and evaluate potential next steps. We remain firm in our belief that HD DVD is the format best suited to the wants and needs of the consumer.

Nachdem einige Gerüchte behaupten das Paramount Geld bekommen hat , nun das Gerücht das Warner 500 Millionen vom Blu Ray Kartell erhalten haben soll, das sie ihren neutralen Status aufgeben.

Report a lso says Fox was paid off, too !

We have heard today of Warner's shock move to Bluray. And we have heard some gossip in online forums that both HD DVD and Bluray had been courting Warner.

But imagine how shocked we were to read a report on Format War Central that appears to give a lot more information!

According to this report, Warner has been promised $500 for their support of Bluray and dropping HD DVD!

It says that up to last week, Warner had been set to go over to the HD DVD side, and that Fox was set to go with them. We assume that this also means that MGM would have moved over to HD DVD, but no information has been given yet regarding this assumption.

However, at the last moment, it is said, Fox changed their mind and accepted a hefty deal from the BDA.

Warner, it is claimed, then decided that they could not go HD DVD without another studio moving with them, and then accepted a $500 deal from the BDA to go exclusive and drop HD DVD.

The report is now appearing on other parts of the web also, like over at EngadgetHD. One poster even says it may have been as much as $620 Million!

We are truly amazed and horrified at this, if true. Assuming that memorandums of understanding were in place between the companies and the HD DVD group, to have turned the tables and blindsided the HD DVD group, their supposed partners, at the last moment right before CES, is shocking.

Worse, if Fox and Warner truly accepted the sums of money being indicated, then it makes a mockery of ALL of their public statements that "the consumer has chosen Bluray", in our opinion.

In fact, if true,then it's our view that this is a disgusting and black day for Home Entertainment in general. A true smirch on what the industry seems to have become.

Note: A report has come out tonight in which Kevin Tsujihara at Warner denies that a "payoff" was taken by Warner. At this point, we find it difficult to know who to believe, frankly. We would note that this denial appears to be being met with scepticism from those who appear to know more about the deal...
