PS3 owners - Are you missing Rumble yet?
I'll be straight up, I like the controller. I've been playing NHL2k7 like crazy and I love being able to hit using tilt. But I also miss rumble like crazy, especially when playing games like resistance. I want to feel explosions, emptying a magazine, etc... Those are things I became so used to that now that they are gone, I'm really missing it.
Would I trade tilt for rumble. No. I think the potential is fantastic. And it works really well. However, I want my cake and eat it too. Here's hoping Sony is working on an updated Dual Shock Sixaxis to be released in 2 years or something. To me, the Dual shock's smooth rumble was second to none.
Nope not at all, but then again ask me how many times I've turned on my PS3 since I bought, and truth be told I use the Logitech Wireless controller on my PS2 and have rumble turned off, and I have rumble turned off on my X360 as well.
I haven't missed it.
Although, I played a decent amount of Wii on christmas and I must admit they use the vibration in some neat ways. Its too bad its not an option for game designers on PS3.
But overall, as far as basic feedback stuff, I'm not missing it. If you really miss feeling the explosions in Resistance, I suggest you get a sound system with a subwoofer.
Not really. Not in Resistance and not in Gran Turismo HD concept. Playing Motorstorm w/ tilt Motorstorm is pretty awesome, though!
nope not at all.
It feels funny jumping on the road in GT HD and not having any rumble but honestly, I don't really miss it. I do have Rumble on the 360 but I don't really notice it either.
For me, rumble became lame after seeing no games taking advantage of it like the first MGS or Zelda64.
No, and it saves me from having to go in and turn it off every time I start a game,
Yes alot in fact, Playing racing games with no rumble sucks ass. Playing Racing games with the Logitech G25 wheel with no force feedback sucks major amounts of ass.
Surprisingly, no.
No really. But I do think Motorstorm would be a great example of needing it. On the upside thought, I love how light the controller is.
I am a rumble fan but i played the GTHD demo and i didn't notice it wasn't there. If i was playing GT4 right before it could have had an effect maybe.
I missed it the second I started playing ridge racer and I drove over a bumpy road and my controller did not react... I was very sad... I would much rather take a controller that has rumble than a half assed motion controller that feels like cheap plastic...
I really hope Logitech makes a controller like the PS2 one they had that has rumble and motion, so I can use that instead of the sixaxis
miss it in resistance to be honest. I know it's constantly rumbling in shooters, but some of those firefights have so much going on, I am burning or getting shot and am so busy going after someone else, I don't notice the visual cues so much. Having the feedback helps when you're trying stay alive.
For Ridge Racer 7, not so much.
For GTHD, the rumble when you go off track or are skidding were invaluable to acheiving the best time, IMO.
I hope it comes back some day.
I don't like sexual vibrations on my hands
usw usw usw usw.
