So my roommate as I have said before is a huge Xbox Fanboy, and was arguing with me saying that Dragon Age inquisition looks the same on PC, Xbox One, and PS4. To Prove this he sent me IGN's comparison video.
I was like, huh, that can't be right. My roommate's response was, "They just really optimized it for consoles."
BULLSHIT, I had to look deeper, and then I stumbled upon this
video.
My suspicions were right, either IGN is using a filter post processing or they are turning down the settings to more closely match consoles.
Edit: Well guys, Reddit has done it again. You guys took something and ran with it, IGN has set the video to private and has made a statement on the issues. It was an honest mistake. Some console footage was mislabeled as PC footage.
Edit 2: IGN's Statement "Hey guys - this was an honest mistake. It appears as though either Xbox One or PlayStation 4 footage was accidentally mislabeled as PC footage. We pulled the video down and are investigating how the wrong video footage was used in this comparison."
"As a guy who spent the first eight years of his career at PC Gamer, the ninth turning GameSpy back into a PC-only site, and the last two running reviews at IGN, I can assure you there is absolutely no anti-PC agenda here. If there were, I would quit. It's definitely true that some of our editors aren't PC gamers, and are about as knowledgeable about PC games as I am about Vita games, but of course everyone has their gaming platform preferences. No one is interested in throwing the PC under the bus to promote consoles, and no directive has ever been given to do so."
