February 15, 2006 - While the Revolution's true unveiling may still be a few months away, development for launch titles is most certainly underway. At DICE, Nintendo commented that big players in the industry are already very excited to be working with the hardware. We recently had a chance to chat with Eighting, the development studio that is currently bringing Naruto: Clash of Ninja over to GameCube here in America. Many of you may remember Eighting as the people who brought you the Bloody Roar series, as well as Zatch Bell. Though the interview was mainly focused on the Naruto project, we were able to get a comment on Revolution, and the possibility of future Eighting projects.
IGN: What do you think of Nintendo's Revolution console? Please be detailed in your response. What are your thoughts on the controller? How might a fighter like Naruto be handled with the controller?
Eighting: With the capabilities of the new hardware, we believe that the Revolution will enable us to expand our creativity through it's unique interface. With regards to using the new controller for fighting games, we're excited to be able to explore new options and ideas that will create new experiences for gamers.
IGN: Are you working on any projects for Nintendo Revolution?
Eighting: We would like to decline to comment on the Nintendo Revolution at this time.
While they weren't able to comment on possible projects in the works, their excitement to explore the Revolution console is a great start for hopeful fans. Could we be seeing a new motion-capture fighting game, or perhaps a reincarnation of the Bloody Roar series on the Revolution? Only time will tell
