New Sonic game heading to Revo this year?
April 4th, 2006
04 Sonic the HedgehogSpeaking to Tech Digest, Sega Europe boss Mike Hayes divulged some fresh info on when we can expect our spiky hero to speed onto next-gen systems. [Sonic is] to be released on to next gen platforms later this year, said Hayes.
The next Sonic game has previously been touted for all three next-gen consoles, including a special version for Nintendos Revolution rumoured to be headed up by Sonic creator Yuji Naka himself.
With a 2006 release confirmed, wed also guess that a Sonic title for launch on both Revolution and PS3 wouldnt be wild assumption to make. Were sure more of the blue devils next-gen outing will be revealed at E3 next month.
This info comes from an article over at ComputerandVideoGames and it bring some pretty interesting info. While IGN has already stated that they believe a Sonic Revolution title is in the works, CVG states it as a fact. They never say that the Sonic Revo title is rumored, just that Yuji Naka may be helming the project.
On the other side of things, Mike Hayes says that the new Sonic games will be released on next gen platforms. I would feel a lot safer in a Sonic Revo title if he had say that Sonic was heading to ALL next gen platforms. Maybe there is a non disclosure agreement that Nintendo seems to love to hand out.
Worst comes to worst, it is nice to hear someone else talking about a Sonic Revolution title, we havent heard any rumblings in quite some time. Just incase, I will keep this marked rumor for now.
